###### ¿A dónde fueron?

Fuimos de vacaciones a visitar a mi hermana mayor y su esposo. En ese momento vivían en Caicara del Orinoco, en la zona nor-oriental del país. Fue un viaje largo y era la primera vez que viajaba a un sitio tan distante. De la zona donde yo vivo – hasta Caicara del Orinoco, nos tomó unos dos días en llegar, lo bueno de todo el viaje era que íbamos acompañados con mi hermana y su esposo.

Aprovechamos que ella vino a visitar amis padres, y como era el mes de nuestras vacaciones, nos animamos y nos fuimos con ellos de regreso. Así que disfrute este viaje al lado de mi hermana desde principio a fin.

###### Where did you go?

We went on vacation to visit my older sister and her husband. At that time they lived in Caicara del Orinoco, in the northeastern part of the country. It was a long trip and it was the first time I had traveled to such a distant place. From the area where I live - to Caicara del Orinoco, it took us about two days to get there, the good thing about the whole trip was that we were accompanied by my sister and her husband.

We took advantage of the fact that she came to visit my parents, and since it was the month of our vacation, we went with them on our way back. So I enjoyed this trip with my sister from beginning to end.

###### ¿Qué hicieron?

Fueron tantas cosas que compartimos juntos, somos dos matrimonios sin hijos, lo que nos permitió disfrutar de muchos momentos juntos, comer, cocinar, visitar amigos, visitar lugares, entre otros. . . 

Por ejemplo, durante el viaje, hicimos parada en bolívar, una ciudad muy activa y productiva, me encanto y a ellos también les gusto mucho, tanto que luego, con algunos años después les tocó mudarse a esa zona. Esperamos muy pronto si las circunstancias lo permiten visitarlos.

###### What did you do?

There were so many things we shared together, we are two married couples without children, which allowed us to enjoy many moments together, eating, cooking, visiting friends, visiting places, among others. . . 

For example, during the trip, we stopped in Bolivar, a very active and productive city, I loved it and they also liked it very much, so much that later, a few years later they had to move to that area. We hope to visit them very soon if circumstances allow it.

###### Amigos con quien compartimos:

Mi hermana consideró que por ser la primera vez para nosotros, era mejor descansar y pasar la noche en bolívar. Allí conocí a una amiga de mi hermana, muy amable y cariñosa, compartimos con ella y su esposo una comida y también insistió que antes de irnos conociéramos el Paseo, donde admiramos el imponente río Orinoco, y su gente tan trabajadora, esto nos impresionó mucho, la agilidad innata de estas personas al pescar.

Luego de que esta amiga nos diera tan hermosa hospitalidad, continuamos nuestro viaje- destino a Caicara del Orinoco.

###### Friends with whom we shared:

My sister considered that since it was the first time for us, it was better to rest and spend the night in Bolivar. There I met a friend of my sister, very kind and affectionate, we shared a meal with her and her husband and she also insisted that before leaving we should visit the promenade, where we admired the imposing Orinoco River, and its hard-working people, this impressed us very much, the innate agility of these people when fishing.

After this friend gave us such beautiful hospitality, we continued our trip - destination Caicara del Orinoco.

###### ¿A qué lugares prefieren ir tus amigos y familiares?

Por lo general mi familia y amigos les gusta visitarnos a nosotras dos, yo vivo en una zona turística muy fresca y fría en temporadas de invierno, y mi hermana también ha vivido en sitios muy emocionantes. Así que tienen para escoger, cuando los niños salen de vacaciones, algunos, los que aman el frío, deciden visitarme a mí y los otros a su otra tía. Y que bueno que resulto así, porque tengo a un sobrino que le encanta venir y visitarme, pero él es asmático y el frío lo enferma de gravedad, él visita a su tía con más frecuencia y la zona como es caliente lo ayuda a controlar la enfermedad. Pero bueno, todo es cuestión de adaptarse, el cambio de ambiente para mí del frío-calor es fuerte, pero nos tocó salir de nuestra zona de confort y disfrutar también del calor.

###### Where do your friends and family prefer to go?

Generally my family and friends like to visit the two of us, I live in a very cool and cold tourist area in winter seasons, and my sister has also lived in very exciting places. So they have a choice, when the kids go on vacation, some of them, the ones who love the cold, decide to visit me and the others their other aunt. And it's a good thing it turned out that way, because I have a nephew who loves to come and visit me, but he is asthmatic and the cold makes him very sick, he used to visit his aunt more often and the area as it is warm helps him to control the disease. But well, it's all a matter of adaptation, the change of environment for me from cold to hot is strong, but we had to leave our comfort zone and enjoy the heat as well.

###### ¿Cuál es el valor que otorgan este tipo de momentos?

* *Renovar fuerzas:* A veces las presiones normales y cotidianas de la vida, así como el trabajo, la rutina, la casa, el día a día. Hacen que te agotes mental y físicamente.

Unas vacaciones son como esa “recarga”, como cuando tu teléfono se descarga y lo enchufas en el tomacorriente para cargarlo, algunos hasta lo apagan, para así alargar la vida de la batería. Así somos nosotros, como esa batería que “da” todos los días, pero se va agotando y es necesario cargarla. Y cuando lo decides es importante que lo hagas con una mente tranquila y puedas disfrutar de tus vacaciones. Esto es muy beneficioso para todos, en especial para uno mismo, disfrutas mejor del momento, observas con mayor interés todo lo nuevo que te rodea.
Y regresas con energías renovadas al 100 %.

* *La familia y los amigos se fortalecen:*
En estas vacaciones conocí cualidades y habilidades de mi hermana que no sabía que tenía, me enseño lecciones de vida de como sobrevivir en lugares distantes, con culturas diferentes a las nuestra.
Las personas del sitio, también las recuerdo con asombro. . .

Justo en ese momento que los visitamos, era el mes de agosto, en esa zona llueve mucho y el río se desborda, te imaginaras cuando se trata del imponente río Orinoco. 

Quise llamar mi título: “Saliendo de mi zona de confort”, ¡porque así fue!

En el siguiente post: Descubre como mi hermana y su esposo se las arreglan para hacer frente a los retos y desafíos para sobrevivir en esta zona y lo que aprendimos con ellos y estuvimos dispuestos hacer para apoyarlos.

También te contaré y te mostraré como la gente de la zona se enfrenta a un desafío mayor: “El río Orinoco”.

###### What is the value of this kind of moments?

* *To renew strength:* Sometimes the normal and daily pressures of life, as well as work, routine, home, day to day. They make you mentally and physically exhausted.

A vacation is like that "recharge", like when your phone is discharged and you plug it into the outlet to charge it, some even turn it off, in order to extend the life of the battery. That's how we are, like that battery that "gives" every day, but it gets exhausted and it is necessary to charge it. And when you decide to do so, it is important that you do it with a calm mind and enjoy your vacation. This is very beneficial for everyone, especially for yourself, you enjoy the moment better, you observe with greater interest everything new around you.
And you return with 100% renewed energy.

* *Family and friends are strengthened:*

On this vacation I met qualities and skills of my sister that I did not know she had, she taught me life lessons on how to survive in distant places, with cultures different from ours.
The people of the place, I also remember them with amazement.

Just at that time that we visited them, it was the month of August, in that area it rains a lot and the river overflows, you can imagine when it is the mighty Orinoco River. 


I wanted to call my title: "Getting out of my comfort zone", because that's how it was!
