Hello, pizza lovers! Today, on International Labor Day, I want to nominate @abelarte for the May Hive Pizza Contest. He's one of the hardest-working artists and people I know. And, above all, one of the best human beings there is.  @abelarte, or Abel Guelmes Roblejo, is a writer, accountant, and history teacher at the “El Cucalambé” Professional Art School. He also works at the Department of Culture as a concert music programmer. But let's take a look at these and other facets of Abel. **Abel as a writer** He began writing in 2013 and graduated that same year from the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Literary Training Center. Since then, he has continued writing almost every day. He has published three books so far.  *Últimos Servicios* was her first book published in Spain in 2017.  *Menú de Completo* won the La Gaveta award in 2019 and was published that same year.   The third is a compilation of stories from the Espacio Abierto workshop, a workshop he coordinates and where he grew as a writer.  What he enjoys writing most is absurdist science fiction and fantasy literature. However, he writes everything: poetry, horror, adult literature, children's literature; plays, radio scripts, reviews and articles for various newspapers, and anything else that comes to mind. Abel says his dream is to become a children's literature writer, like Michael Ende, Andersen, etc. However, lately, where he writes most is here in the hive community, as you can see on his profile. **Own Literature-Related Projects** Without a doubt, there are three literary projects that occupy a large part of his time and dreams. The first is the Fantasy and Science Fiction Literature Workshop "Espacio Abierto." Espacio Abierto is the longest-running literary workshop of its kind in Cuba (since 2009), and he has been a part of it since 2013 as coordinator.  "Alta Literatura" (https://altaliteratura.wordpress.com) is a literary project for the analysis, debate, and promotion of literature. It was created by Abel and other friends five years ago. Unlike Espacio Abierto, it focuses on professional writers. His blog is read in more than twenty countries.  Abel is originally from #Havana. However, since we met and began our relationship in January 2023, he moved to Las Tunas. There, inspired by his previous projects, he created his critique space "Lunes Crítico".  As I told you, Abel is a man who is always dreaming and working on multiple projects. In addition to these, which are "his literary children," he also directs the Guillermo Vidal literary workshop and writes for various national and international magazines. **Participation in literary events** Due to his books, writings, and projects, as well as his work as a literary promoter, he has participated in numerous events throughout the country.     **Abel as a friend** Due to his affable nature and principles, he is loved and respected by many people in the country and abroad. He writes to and meets with various friends daily to have coffee and talk about literature, family, work, and, above all, to listen to them and care for them. Usually, when they call him on the phone, he almost always asks, "How can I help you?" And it's always been a philosophy they both share: he never expects anything in return. That's one of the traits I admire most about Abel. He said that if he could teach literary workshops, he thought he could teach History. And in truth, he's fallen in love with teaching. The best part is that his students love him.  The most important thing is that they have learned a lot. Not only history, but also literature and life lessons. Both parents and teachers are very happy with him and have let us know.   **Hawaiian pizza: his favorite** Of course, we have to talk about pizza. Abel loves pizza: any kind. However, Hawaiian pizza is his favorite. This pizza in the photo is one sold by an elderly lady on the street. According to Abel, the lady rides her bike around the town center hawking hot pizzas. He always buys for her to help her, as he feels sorry for a woman her age who is struggling so much. Plus, the pizzas are good and cheap. It's a win-win, however you look at it. From watching TV shows and movies to playing video games on his cell phone.  However, what he enjoys most is reading. He can read up to three books at a time, on any subject.  Here in Las Tunas, in rare and used bookstores, he has found several of the classics that began his passion for literature, such as *Frankenstein*.  **Abel as a father figure** He never had children of his own, although he always wanted them. However, perhaps that same desire is what has driven him to act like a father to my children. He himself has said that he loves them as if they were his own and treats them that way.  He protects them, pampers them, cares for them, advises them, and, at the same time, is very strict with them when he needs to be. He's always thinking about them. It doesn't matter if we're at home or traveling to another province. He surprises me at any moment with a plan or idea to incorporate the children. He himself decided to be the first to get up to make them breakfast and get them ready for school. He's been an incredible support to my career, as I can travel to other provinces and trust that they're well taken care of. Sometimes I've even come home and found them playing PlayStation, games on their cell phones, or perched on the roof picking mangoes. Yes, sometimes he's as much of a teenager as they are 😁. Maybe that's why he understands them so much.  **My husband Abel** I won't talk about how much I love him and how I feel about him. I think admitting that I trust him with my children and that we've been together for over two years is enough to show my feelings for him. I'll talk about what he means to me. Abel is a fundamental pillar for my career, as he's the person I can rely on whenever I need support. Whether it's for my doctorate, my concert performances, bureaucratic procedures (which he's much better at than me), or promoting me on social media or at events, I can always count on him.    Abel is and has been so many good things in my life, since he came into ours. He was even the one who introduced me to this great ecosystem we're part of here at #Hive. Without him, I wouldn't be here writing to you. That's why I'd like you to vote for him to be one of this month's contest winners. It would be an incredible help and recognition, which he richly deserves. I hope you see him that way. *** **Versión en español** *** Hola, amigos de las pizzas! Hoy, en el día internacional del Trabajo quiero proponer para el Hive Pizza Contest de Mayo a @abelarte, uno de los artistas y personas más trabajadores que conozco. Y, por encima de todo, una de los mejores seres humanos que hay.  @abelarte, o Abel Guelmes Roblejo es escritor, contador y profesor de Historia en la Escuela Profesional de Arte “El Cucalambé”. Además, trabaja en la Dirección de Cultura como programador de la música de concierto. Pero, vayamos por parte y veamos estas y otras facetas de Abel. **Abel como escritor** Comenzó a escribir en el año 2013 se gradúo ese mismo año del centro de formación literaria“ Onelio Jorge Cardoso” y a partir de ahí ha seguido escribiendo casi todos los días. De momento tiene publicado tres libros.  *Últimos servicios* fue su primer libro publicado en España en el año 2017.  *Menú de Completo* obtuvo el premio La Gaveta en el año 2019 que fue publicado ese mismo año.   El tercero es la compilación de los cuentos de el taller Espacio Abierto. Taller que coordina y en el que creció como escrior.  Lo que más le gusta escribir es la literatura de absurdo ciencia ficción y fantasía. Sin embargo, escribe todo: escribe poesía, literatura de terror, literatura para adultos, para niños; escribe teatro, guiones para radio, reseñas y artículos para diferentes periódicos y cualquier otra cosa que le venga la imaginación. Dice Abel que, su sueño es trascender como escritor de literatura infantil, como Michael Ende, Andersen, etc. No obstante, últimamente donde más escribe es aquí en la comunidad de hive, como pueden apreciarlo en su perfil. **Proyectos propios relacionados con la literatura** Sin duda alguna hay tres proyectos literarios que le ocupan gran parte de su tiempo y anhelos. El primero, el Taller de Literatura Fantástica y de Ciencia Ficción “Espacio Abierto”. Espacio Abierto es el taller literario de su tipo más longevo en Cuba (desde el 2009) y del que él es parte desde el año 2013, como coordinador.  “[Alta Literatura](https://altaliteratura.wordpress.com)” es un proyecto literario para el análisis, debate y promoción de la literatura. Fue creado por Abel y otros amigos suyos hace cinco años. A diferencia de Espacio Abierto está enfocado en escritores profesionales. Su blog es leído en más de una veintena de países.  Abel es natural de La #Habana. Sin embargo, desde que nos conocimos y comenzamos nuestra relación en enero del 2023, se mudó a Las Tunas. Aquí, inspirado en sus proyectos anteriores, creó su espacio de crítica “Lunes Crítico”.  Como les dije, Abel es un hombre que siempre anda soñando y trabajando en múltiples proyectos. Además de estos, que son “sus hijos literarios”, tambien conduce el taller literario Guillermo Vidal y escribe para diversas revistas nacionales y extranjeras. **Participación en eventos literarios** Debido a sus libros, escritos y proyectos, así como su labor como promotor literario, ha participado en múltiples espacios a lo largo y ancho del país.     **Abel como amigo** Por su carácter afable y sus principios, es querido y respetado por muchísimas personas en el país y el extranjero. Diariamente se escribe y se reúne con diversos amigos a tomar café y conversar de literatura, de la familia, de trabajo y aobre todo, a escucharlos y preocuparse por ellos Por lo general, cuando lo llaman por teléfono, casi siempre les pregunta ¿en qué te puedo ayudar? Y siempre ha sido una filosofía compartida por los dos: nunca espera nada a cambio. Esa es una característica de las que más admiro de Abel. Dijo que, si podía impartir talleres literarios, creía poder impartir la asignatura de Historia. Y en realidad, se ha enamorado del magisterio. Lo mejor de todo es que sus alumnos lo adoran.  Lo más importante es que han aprendido muchísimo. No solo de historia, también de literatura y de enseñanzas para la vida. Tanto padres como profesores están muy contentos con él y así nos lo han hecho saber.   **La pizza hawaiana: su preferida** Por supuesto, hay que hablar de la pizza. Abel ama la pizza: de cualquier tipo. Sin embargo, la pizza hawaiana es su preferida. Esta pizza de la foto es una que vende de forma ambulante una señora mayor. Según me cuenta Abel, la señora recorre el centro del pueyen bicicleta pregonando las pizzas calientes. Él siempre le compra para ayudarla, ya que le da pena que una mujer a su edad, esté pasando tanto trabajo. Además, las pizzas están buenas y baratas. Es un win-win, como quiera que lo mire  **Algunos de sus hobbies** Hobbies tiene varios. Desde ver series y películas, hasta jugar videojuegos en el celular.  Sin embargo, el que más disfruta es la lectura. Puede estar leyendo hasta tres libros a la vez y de cualquier temática.  Aquí en las tunas en las librerías de libros raros y de uso ha encontrado varios de los clásicos con los que comenzó su pasión por la literatura, como es el caso de *Frankenstein*.  **Abel como figura paterna** Nunca tuvo hijos propios aunque siempre quise tenerlos. Sin embargo quizás ese mismo deseo es el que lo ha impulsado hacer como un padre para mis hijos. El mismo ha dicho que los quiere como si fueran suyos propios y así los trata.  Los protege, los mima, atiende, conseja y, al mismo tiempo, es muy estricto con ellos cuando debe serlo. Siempre está pensando en ellos. No importa si estamos en la casa o de viaje en alguna provincia. En cualquier momento me sorprende con un plan o idea para incorporar a los niños. Él mismo decidió ser el primero en levantarse para prepararle el desayuno y alistarlos para la escuela. Ha sido un increíble apoyo para mi carrera, ya que puedo viajar a otras provincias y confiar que estén bien cuidados. Incluso, en ocasiones he llegado a la casa y los he encontrado jugando Playstation, juegos en el celular o encaramados en el techo cogiendo mangos. Sí, a veces es tan adolescente como ellos 😁. Quizás por eso los entiende tanto.  **Mi esposo Abel** No hablaré de lo que lo amo y lo que siento por él. Pienso que condecir que le confío mis hijos y llevamos más de dos años de relación, es suficiente para saber mis sentimientos por él. Hablaré de lo que representa para mí. Abel es un pilar fundamental para mi carrera, ya que es esa persona en la que puedo confiar en todo momento en que me puedo apoyar, para lo que necesite. Independientemente de si es para el doctorado, para mis presentaciones como concertista, los trámites burocráticos (que se le dan mucho mejor que a mí) o promoviéndome en redes sociales o en eventos, siempre puedo contar con él.    Abel es y ha sido tantas cosas buenas para mi vida, desde que entró en nuestra vida. Incluso fue el que me inició en este gran ecosistema del que somos parte aquí en #Hive. Sin él, no estuviera aquí escribiéndoles a ustedes. Por eso quisiera que votaran por él para ser uno de los ganadores del concurso de este mes. Sería una increíble ayuda y reconocimiento que muy bien que se lo merece. Ojalá y así lo vean.
