Target Votes of 5 per Day instead of 40, Feed Tab is gone, and a new Voting Power slider.

Steemit announcing :

Target Votes of 5 per Day instead of 40

We are changing the target number of votes per day from 40 to 5 so that more people keep their voting power below 100%. The purpose of this change is to rebalance power toward normal users and away from bots. You can still vote as often as you like, this change merely impacts the speed at which voting power is consumed.

What is the Target Votes 5 per Day change, anyway?

Currently a whale, bot or anyone can vote 40 times a day without it negatively impacting their voting power. Voting power helps promote accurate voting by rewarding those that stay within the limits. Now this count is going to 5 votes per day! This has a 5 day regeneration period, so basically if you continually go beyond the limits your voting power will be significantly impacted.

This nice little graph is from user @burnin, he explained:

Before this change, your voting power would drop to 79.81% when casting 44 votes, now it would drop to 81.41% after 4 votes, as expected. In the new model (blue line), it would drop below 1% after 86 votes, when it took 703 votes beforehand. In both cases, it still regenerates 20% after a day and fully after five.

The next new thing i realized is the new Voting Power Slider.

Now you can choose how many "juice" you wanna give for a post or a comment.

Like this you can adjust how many times you can vote.

For example: you can vote 5 times with 100% or 25 times with 20%.

Last night i had a conversation with @craig-grant , he mentioned in his video that after the hard fork each vote will be worth 8 times more. After asking him why is that so, he explained:

" It's the way the new voting power works, the rewards are always 10% of the steem market cap, so the amount of rewards are not going down, just the voting power is more condensed, so instead of 40 votes for 20 cents each, it become 5 votes for $1.60 each... 40/5 = 8.. then 8x20 = 160"

The last news for today is the Feed Tab. I looks like its gone... no its not, its called home now.
