Interesting Life Hack: Standard Minimum Effort

It isn't always ideal to admit that one doesn't give their best all the time. In theory, we should give our best in everything we set out to do. However, due to constraints such as time, motivation, incentives etcetera it rarely pans out that way.

What then happens is that quality is compromised and we aren't able to take full advantage of the benefits attached to consistent quality effort. I mean, if we can keep performing at a high level throughout there is no doubt that success will find us regardless of the field or profession of choice.

Let's look at any field from professional sports all the way to business such as manufacturing for instance in order to view how top level performers ascend the ladder of fame and fortune.

There is a catch to all this though, and that is the difficulty associated with high level consistency. I mean giving 100% every now and then is okay and quite practicable, but how possible is it to replicate that feat on a daily basis? I'll say even for the most conscientious of persons, it is quite a herculean task.

What then can we do in times where we simply cannot keep up? Some people decide to take long breaks while others keep trying till they wear themselves out both physically and mentally. Experience though has shown me an alternate path to performance where results are demanded on a consistent basis.

# What Hive Taught Me
Participation on the Hive chain can sometimes take its toll. I for one have been having struggles with content creation for a few weeks now. Usually I'd taken a long break off the platform, but I made a promise to be active and consistent.

So what then does one do in order to maintain consistency and not compromise standard? The example with my content was a direct question: do I compromise quality just to keep up the consistency?

Of course the answer is no, as even though quality is subjective it can be measured in some way by the amount effort put into it. Lazy content is easy to spot, and there isn't much support for lazy writers (with few exceptions of course).

What I do when am down is to put in the minimum effort possible it will take to the creation of a standard article and preserve my energy (or bask in laziness). What this means is that research will likely suffer but it won't hurt the final product.

We are all capable of delivering something tangible with minimum effort, as long as we want to maintain a level of quality. Since quality is too big a trade to be compromised, alternate ways like this can be the difference between those who are rewarded and those who quit.
