Movies are my thing, especially on weekends, no matter how busy my schedule is I always find time to entertain myself with one.

There is no day I don't watch movies, sometimes not even for entertainment sake but to sleep. Not long ago I discovered that the easiest way for me to fall asleep is to play a movie.

Give me some minutes and I will either sleep off or start feeling sleepy. It's a strategy that has been working so well for me.

The reason why movies will not cease to be is apart from getting people entertained, it also has a unique way of passing information to us individually.

There is so much mystery attached to movies, it's funny how two individuals will watch the same movie but learn different things from it, movies have a way of reaching everyone, it's a tool that can either make or ruin a society within a short period of time

This is why those who are charged with the responsibility of making those videos available must know what they are dealing with and strive to come up with movies that will transform rather than deform.

I have watched several movies over the years and  I must confess I have learned both negatively and positively.

Like I said earlier, "movies are powerful weapons,"  there were days I watched certain movies and I got bad messages that affected me wrongly and took me some time to fix myself.

There were also times I watched movies that spoke sense into my head, making me adjust and live cautiously. One of those movies is **My Name Is Tayo**.

> Trailer From YouTube

It is a 2022 comic video about a young man Tayo who graduated from school and returned home after National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) with a vision like every other young person but sought jobs and got none.

All hope seemed to be lost, his family was already becoming uncomfortable with a fully grown-up man who only eats food and contributes nothing, though his Mom always stood by him.

His two friends Ada and Godspower also never left him but kept encouraging him and pushing him to explore the internet for opportunities.

Which he finally did when Ada gave him a phone when her sister got her a new one. Through Ada, Tayo accidentally got into a stunt challenge on social media after Ada uploaded a video of him running from a dog. Boom, the young man won Two Million Naira.

His status changed overnight, the act was epic, and Tayo became a celebrity. Demands were made from everywhere for his attention and money kept entering.

Together with his two friends, Ada and Godspower, his new career kept booming.

But they say "money changes men,"  Tayo met a celebrity lady along the way who influenced him negatively and the young man started living a kind of life no one expected.

He cut ties with both Ada and Godspower who made him who he is and got a new circle of living recklessly until life turned against him.

Funny enough, his friends moved on and got a better life without him. All the new friends he had left him, worst of all even the lady that got him into the mess left after putting him into so much trouble.

The good thing is in the end, he discovered that he was on the wrong path and sought for his friends and they reconciled.

**Lessons**

The kind of people you keep around your life can either be a blessing or a curse to you as it happened in the case of Tayo. Friends made him and friends brought him down.

I also learned that money and fame have the power to bring out every man's true colors. Tayo's change was a surprise to everyone, imagine turning your back on people who made you who you are simply because you are now popular.

You may not fully know what you are capable of until you touch a small amount of money. This is why we have to keep working on ourselves and keep trimming the parts that are not important else someday they will surely pop up.

Another thing I learned from the movie is not to relax even when things don't seem to work for you but to keep exploring and looking for opportunities around. Sometimes the answer to our breakthrough is right before us but because we are blinded by the memories of our failures we don't see it.
