## I Could Be A Total Smartass
<div class="text-justify">and say something insanely clever like, "You see, when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much", or, I could rip on myself and say I was the accident that happened when my parents got drunk on a Fourth of July, but I think she means, how did I find my stupid ass on Steem. <b>Fact #1</b> - <i>I'm not going to bullshit you.</i> Because, well, let's face it, you'd have to be stupid to come over to some new territory, out of your comfort zone, with dreams of grandeur when Facebook and Tumblr have so many cool things on it already.</div>

## On A Mission
<div class="text-justify">Facts is, I was doing just that. I was on a mission to discover what this thing was that was stable on the exchanges and it just so happened, it was (what I thought) a perfect place to market. Which, by the way, if you want to talk about why investors aren't coming over here in drones, we can get in to another time. <b>Fact #2</b> - <i>Be you - the real you.</i> Turns out, it's <b><i>NOT</i></b> the place you want to come and make a new name and try to market your business. At least, not the way I did it. However, I did make a little Steem on my first few attempts, which piqued a new interest and spawned a new mission.</div>

## Discovery
<div class="text-justify">After exploring a bit and seeing people make a ton of money on things I could shit out better in a freezing out house with no toilet paper, I decided I wasn't going anywhere and the marketing bullshit for pennies every single day, took the back seat on the short bus. <b>Fact #3</b> - <i>There is a learning curve.</i> I wanted to know everything about this blockchain; the capabilities, how tos, whos, whats, wheres, whens, whys and most importantly - the how tos. Did I say that already? Several things I have yet to figure out how to do, all in due time I suppose.</div>

## I Started Something
<div class="text-justify">I learned after a few weeks, I was going to need a team if I was going to be half way successful over here. I've always believed by helping others, you help yourself. Pay it forward. Do unto others. These aren't old adages that have stood the test of time for any particular reason, no, it's because they're true. <b>Fact #4</b> - <i>I'm not going anywhere.</i> @thealliance came to be and is still standing on strong legs for over 2 years. I even became a witness in that time period, which brings us to the second part of @snook's little <a href="/dtube/@snook/kmug58quf73">A #Snookmademedoit Challenge</a>:</div>

# Why The Fuck Am I Still Here?
<div class="text-justify">It ain't for the damn money, I'll tell you that. In fact, since becoming a witness, I can only count <b><i>one month</i></b> where I was actually 'in the black' and came out ahead based on market prices at the time. I'm also going to say (and this might make some people scratch their heads) that it's not for the community. All the ones I joined prior to creating my own, were really snobbish and there were a lot of assholes that wouldn't give me the time of day because <i>nobody knew who I am</i> and still don't.

<b>Fact #5</b> - <i>A community is not necessarily a team.</i> Let alone, a family. That's not to say I haven't come in contact or am not a member of some great ones. When I started The Alliance, there was nothing else like it and we filled quite a few holes. Holes that have since been filled by other communities (and whether they admit it or not) that have taken on countless things that we initially did and still do to an extent. But one thing none of them have been able to copy, nor I feel can, is the Family.</div>

## Family.
<div class="text-justify">That's why I'm still here, and, this has a duplicity to it. The first side of the coin reflects the concrete foundation I'm building for future generations of my own personal blood line. That same love for my princesses carry in to all I do, especially to my Steem family. I want all of you to have something to pass on, build a legacy with us. <b>Fact #6</b> - <i>Helping people makes me happy.</i>

The other side of that coin is, I've felt defeated multiple times and almost threw in the towel. But because of the <b><i>REAL FAMILY</i></b> I've help to grow and cultivate here, they didn't let me. Is it a community? Sure. But, if one digs in and sets roots, you'll find I am so much more than just a vote. And the thing I love about that effort I've put in, is I've found others that will do the same thing and <i>that</i>, is why I'm still here.

Not the money. Not the community. Not the fun and games. Not the social malfunction and political duress. Despite what I feel about the blockchain and its massive potential, that's not why I'm still here. It's the family, in all its regards. Smiles, fears, hopes and tears - we're here. Much love my peoples, and <b>REMEMBER TO BE YOU!</b> <i>I always am, even while sentimentally frustrated.</i></div>
