How to Get Images and Image Source from Google - The Newbies Guide ๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŒ‡โœ…

It is worthy to note that many images online are copyrighted materials.

Even though it is easy to access any image on the internet, it does not mean you are legally given the permission to use that image in your works like in your books, articles, works of arts and your blog posts on steemit.
***
However, you can use the image if you accurately cite the source(s) of the image(s).

Like written sources, images also should be properly cited. Always indicate, or cite where you found the image or got the image from.

In today's tutorial, I'll be writing on how to get images from Google and how to also get the source of the images obtained from **Google Images**. I am using Google images because that is where most people get the images they used in their steemit posts from.

***
I decided to do this tutorial because I've discovered that a lot of persons do not know how to accurately cite the sources of the images they get from Google thereby resulting in them not citing their images or giving wrong links as the source.

I also decided to do this tutorial because I run a telegram group which I introduce new people to steemit and also tutor them on how to navigate the Steemit waters effectively.
However, I discovered that most of the newbies don't know how to properly cite their images.

I'm not going to bore you with too much words, so I'm going to make this tutorial short and concise.

## The Tutorial Proper
Remember, this tutorial is only for getting image source from images gotten from **Google Image**

If you're writing an article about *love* for example and then you need to insert some images that portray love in your articles, one of the best place to get images from is Google.

But then, using images from Google in your article without highlighting the source of the image is plagiarism and copyright infringement.

###### So how do you get the images and the source?

**Step 1** , visit [Google](https://www.google.com)search website and input what you want to search for (in my own case, I'm searching for **love**) - https://www.google.com

**Step 2** , click the **images** tab.

***
 **Step 3** ,

Ok. So I've discovered an image that looks nice and will reflect what my article is talking about and so I click on it.

Next, click on this circled area

And click **View original image**

***
Next, the full image will be loaded and you'll need to copy the image link or url which you'll use in your post.
To do that, click on the image and select copy **image url** or **copy image location** - depending on the browser you're using.

#### That's how to get the url of the image

## How to get the image Source

To get the image source, go back to this stage

https://image.ibb.co/fY2MsG/IMG_20180104_171911_179.jpg

Then click this circled area

https://image.ibb.co/b89HXG/IMG_20180104_171338_153.jpg

This will load the website which hosts the image or the source of the image.
***
The loaded url or link will become the source of your image and you can easily use it on your post by using this markdown code.

 **Example:**

And then you'll get this:

https://static.pexels.com/photos/5390/sunset-hands-love-woman.jpg
