The dictionary/literal mean of **Joy** is a feeling of extreme happiness, especially related to acquisition or expectation of something good
From the definition, joy is synonymous to happiness but in biblical point of view, joy isn’t like happiness which is based upon happenings or whether things are going well or not. No, **joy remains even  amidst the suffering and turbulence.**.

Let take a look and the true essence of Joy in 1Peter 1:6-8
> Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with ***joy 
unspeakable*** and full of glory:

From the quoted scripture, it speaks for manifold temptation, trials of faith but amid all there is a joy that filled the heart of the Christians Apostle Peter was admonishing, a joy that cannot be described that why it was called ***joy unspeakable***.
Jesus also experience such joy this helped Jesus endure the cross (Hebrew 12: 2)
> ...who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God
 From the above, there is a big difference between joy and happiness. Happiness is an emotion and it is temporary; joy is an attitude of the heart.

**What is this Unspeakable Joy?**
1. It is the joy of the Lord as said by Nehemiah `the joy of the lord is my strength` (Neh 8:10) 
2. It is the fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22 
`But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,...`
3. It is an everlasting Joy Isaiah 51:11 `...everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy;...`

**The Effects of Unspeakable Joy.***
Unspeakable joy can enable a Christian who possesses it to weather any kind of life storm
"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; (2 Corinthians 4:8&9)". It also drives away sorrow and mourning (Isaiah 51:11) "Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away."
Unspeakable Joy is contagious, if you are joyful everything around you; your business, family health resonant that joy frequency, and at this frequency you live in the miraculous
The effect of **no joy** is devastating (Joel 1:12) "The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because **joy is withered away from the sons of men.**".  

**How to posses Unspeakable Joy?**
1 Being connected to the source of unspeakable Joy, that is the Almighty Creator.
2. Learn to live in God presence all the time
> Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.(Psalms 16:11).
3. Possess a lifestyle of worship
4. Be a. haritable giver; there a kind of unexplained joy when you give cheerfully 
5. Celebrate the success of other as if it is your success.

Conclusively, unspeakable joy stays while happiness goes and comes. Walk in the Spirit and don't let any person spoil your joy, For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.(Isaiah 55:12)
