No, I don't watch [Hunter x Hunter](https://g.co/kgs/qnnJZN). You're free to grab me by the shoulders, shake me around, and ask, "Why?!" It isn't that it didn't appeal to me. It was just that I didn't have the platform (I know it's now in Netflix PH, though) and the general interest before. I've come to like shounen anime and manga that are borderline-seinen and HxH is shounen... *shounen*. Don't get me wrong; I love shounen anime and manga! I just really lean more towards young adult demographic-centric anime right now. What I know, however, is that HxH is extremely popular, especially the characters. I know who Gon Freecss is, and Kurapika and Killua. I also saw Hisoka Morow before, and am familiar with his 2011 appearance (the red hair and all). But... I didn't know how they are as characters. Last week's Anime DTIYS Challenge of [Noise.cash's ArtPark](https://noise.cash/c/artpark-k2lmq6l7) featured [Hisoka Morow](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hunter_%C3%97_Hunter_characters#Hisoka_Morow) and I was seriously *challenged.* ## Drawing Hisoka Morow I knew his name and his appearance, but I didn't know *who* he *is*. It was a problem to draw him because I knew nothing about him, so I got to start addressing that by doing a little research. #### Getting to know Hisoka I did my research by first reading Wiki entries about him, and some articles [with fun facts about him](https://www.cbr.com/hunter-x-hunter-hisoka-morow-facts-trivia-anime/). To summarize, I have reasons to believe that he is a mysterious, psycho character who have no qualms killing people. Interestingly, he also changes outfit quite often, and that made everything a little harder for me. And he's also strong. And... he's also popular. With his hair down, dude looked hot. But I still haven't a clue what I wanted to do with him. His eyes, his nose, and darn, even his hair were difficult to get correctly. Sure, it made illustrating him even harder, but I think it's made the picture look more dynamic. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure with his arms. Er, I want him to look muscular without being quite the body builder. I want his arms to be toned, but I have zero idea how to draw human arms with toned muscles. I had to google some images to get a good grasp of how I wanted it to look, without it looking weird. Finally, when I was nearly done, I realized that it looked a little empty.
