We all want Steemit to be an organically-grown community. But maybe what you want is not best for the future of Steemit?

I was speaking to my friend about the gospel of Steemit. He asked me, "so: where does the money come from?"
I fumbled for an answer... "Well" I said, "Speculation and members buying Steem".

Is that sustainable?

"Sounds like a Ponzi Scheme", he said.

As it stands, whales are profiting off of their initial support of Steemit, whether that be through early adoption or buying large amounts of Steem early to gain Power. 

So what keeps it growing and adding value? 

Speculation keeps the price up, adoption keeps that value stable. 

So what does that mean for the future? As a steemit member, do you think the Steem blockchain will continue to grow and be used in other platforms? Do you think that the steem you own now will continue to grow? 

What form will it take in the future? How will steem continue to be utilized? 

The answer is: new money.



When steemit hits mainstream, advertisers will have to buy steem to get in front of you. Rather than a business having to pay a 3rd party for advertising they will have to pay Steemit members to put themselves in front of you. Essentially: advertisers will advertise by reinforcing the value Steem, rewarding steem holders and steemit members in the process.

If you don't want advertisers, you don't want people to buy steem and you don't want your time and investment to gain value.
