I came across the news this morning. [Adidas launches environmentally friendly 100% recyclable running shoes](https://metro.co.uk/2019/04/22/adidas-launch-environmentally-friendly-100-recyclable-running-shoes-9283441/). The brand is called Futurecraft.Loop and this is the first shoe that can be completely reused to make another high performance running shoe. 

Running shoes are widely used not only by runners but also for other people just because they are very comfortable. Runners on the other hand are changing their shoes very often. One pair is mostly guaranteed for no more than 800 - 1000 km or max two years but some shoes don't resist that much, especially if you're overweight. 

My New Balance running shoes were good till I've reached 550 km and had to buy new ones. Now I have Asics, which is perfect for my pronating feet. Adidas is not my favorite brand but that doesn't matter. If they are reusing old shoes to create new ones, other will too very soon. 

These shoes then are thrown away and most likely end up somewhere at a garbage land and stay there because the material used does not decompose. The other option is burning them but that's again a not practical one as burning plastic or synthetic material is extremely unhealthy and creates pollution.

I'm looking forward to holding one in my hand soon, I'm very curious although it looks the same as the other, existing ones :)
