Leofinance has made a few changes lately, one of which is implementing the flat curation curve, instead of the existing rewarding system on Hive. The difference between the two is huge. If you want to earn curation reward on Hive, you need to know when to vote as voting too early or too late can leave you with nothing. Leofinance was smart and implemented the flat curation curve a month ago, which means you can vote anytime you want in the available 7 day window and the reward will be split 50/50 between the author and curator. Another advantage Leofinance has versus Hive is that rewards are displayed in Leo tokens, not in $. So you can get 0.002 Leo upvote on your comment and still get 0.001 Leo payout. Due to this change, engagement and rewarding engagement on Leofinance has exploded. This is excellent, I couldn't be more happy about the news, however it complicated things a little bit for everyone and I tell you why. [source](https://unsplash.com/photos/loeHweDtHIc) Hive has not changed the curation curve, it's the same one. When you vote on posts and comments on Leofinance, you're using both your Leo stake and Hive stake as you vote is registered on the blockchain. On Leofinance, no matter how high is the vote value, you get half or it and the curator gets the other half. That's not the case on Hive. Hive has a dust value policy, which means anything less than $0.02 is not paid out. Rewards on Hive are displayed in $, which means the upvote value can fluctuate based on the price fluctuation till the payout occurs. This means the comment upvotes in Hive may be lost due to this, if those are under $0.02. To be able to use VP and LP wisely, many users have set up a dedicated account for Leo alone. These accounts have some HP delegated, but not much. There's a service provided by @dustsweeper, which allows you to keep your Hive rewards earned on comments. Please read the [Dustsweeper's FAQ](https://peakd.com/dustsweeper/@dustsweeper/dustsweeper-s-faq). I'm using it and get four or five upvotes a day from them, to save what needs to be saved. It may not look much if you take the daily value, but multiplied with 30 or 365, it adds up. According to them, the total dust saved so far is $3.879 and all this mostly on Hive, where comments are rarely voted. I guess I must specify that this goes both for posts and comments, but posts usually get more than $0.02 but those at $0.02 post level can't always afford to invest in this. Back to Leofinance, I love that your rewards are in Leo and not fluctuating based on the market changes, and you can curate whenever you have time, posts and comments. Stem is using the same system, so let's hope these communities can be an example for others, a trial that has already been done and proven that this model is working way better than the old one. Disclaimer: I'm not part of @dustsweeper, nor want to advertise it, it's just a suggestion for those who are interested.
