Frosty Spiderwebs
Spiders are not my favorites and I'm lucky for not having many here. You can find them at the countryside though and when I'm visiting my dad, I can see a few. Not many know how important spiders are though.

>Spiders are carnivorous arthropods, consume a large number of preys and do not damage plants. They have unique habitat and they live in almost all the environments. Spiders serve as buffers that limit the initial exponential growth of prey populations. [source](https://agris.fao.org/agris-search/search.do?recordID=FI2016100322)

Without spiders nature would have a lot to suffer. Spiders are part of the ecosystem and are here to stay. I'm not familiar with their schedule, but it's known that autumn is when you can find a lot of spiderweb outside.

The everyday rush many times is stopping us for observing these spiderwebs, making us blind if you like, but with the latest frost I could not miss them.

When I saw them, my first thought was how this thin web is going to resist the weight of the frost.

When there's a proper web, there's no risk of weight pulling it down, but one thin thread is a totally different thing.

Look at this one for example. How many threads are there? How much does it weigh now? Will it break once the frost start to melt?

There was one on the bark of the tree, covering part of the moss.

This is maybe the most impressing one. Because it has been created on these branches, makes it even more interesting.

One thing I would have loved to see is how the spider would have used its web in these conditions. The frost melted in a few hours, so poor spider was able to get his we back but still. I guess they are avoiding the web in these conditions. Besides, there's no reason to use it. Creating a web in the first place is done to catch flies and flies don't fly when it's freezing outside, do they?

I love this one because of the color combination. Red and green leaves, mixed with white lace-like spider web. I think it's lovely.

This may look like a strange post as usually people are posting macro photos about spiders, highlighting every detail. Spiderweb photos are popular as it's fascinating to see a nicely created web with an interesting spider close-up. What I am showing in this post is not so common, nor popular. Regardless, I liked the capturing these photos and looking at them during putting together this post. I hope you're going to like it too. Maybe this is the closest I'm going to get to a spider and its web.
