Practicing for Christmas
Today I'd like to show you my sweet bread with walnuts I baked yesterday. Why practicing? I don't really need practicing when it comes to sweet bread, I'm baking these for year now, but before Christmas and Easter, some of my family members can't wait till the holiday to start and asks me to bake one, saying I need to practice.

This is with walnut but I also make it with cocoa, Turkish delight, raisins and poppy seeds. It's very common here, there's no holiday without this kind or sweet bread.

Warning, my cooking and baking English is terrible, so be gentle :)

Ingredients for the dough:
* 500 g all purpose flour,
* 5 tablespoon sugar,
* 1 teaspoon salt,
* 2 egg yolks,
* 80 g butter melted,
* 3.5 dl milk
* 25 g yeast

Ingredients for the filling:
* 100 g sugar,
* 200 g chopped walnut,
* 2 egg whites.

Add the yeast to 100 ml warm milk, add some sugar and let it rest for 10 minutes to rise.

Use a large bowl, combine the flour, the salt, sugar. Mix the two egg yolks with a few tablespoon of warm milk and add to the mix. Then add the yeast, the rest of the warm milk and mix till smooth. Melt the butter, then add it slowly to the dough, till it takes it up all.

Cover the bawl with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour, until doubled.

Place dough on a well-floured surface and roll into a 1 cm (0.5 inch) rectangle. Beat the egg whites with sugar, add the walnuts and spread on the dough, then roll. Place it into a baking tray. Coat the upper part with an egg yolk. Bake until golden.
