It's been 10 days, since the war in Ukraine started. I've been posting about it as right now this is the most important and the saddest event in Europe and in the whole world to some degree. Things are not going according to Putin's plan and the situation is not good, not good at all for Russia.

## Russia

The parties have agreed to a cease-fire, so civilians can be evacuated and after two hours the Russians started shelling again. In some cities civilians were advised to get off the buses, go home and hide in shelters again. This action proves how much you can trust the Russian side, not that it's a new thing. 

Nuclear plants are in danger as Russians are shelling without any consideration. So far nothing irreversible has happened at the second nuclear plant occupied, but that doesn't mean we're safe. Ukraine has six nuclear plants in total (if my intel is right), Chernobyl has been occupied quite at the beginning as it is right at the Belarus border, the Zaporizhzhia plant was occupied these days but some sources say the Ukrainians have taken back control over the plant. Is it true? We don't know. 

So far no one knows what's in the head of this sick individual, we can only guess. The press got hold of his plans according to which he has been planning to occupy Ukraine in two weeks, but the actual situation does not match his plans yet as he wasn't able to take over the big cities yet.

Occupying Kiev and declaring Ukraine as Russian territory is his main goal, but  till then, they are trying to occupy half of Ukraine, cut the country off from access to the Black Sea, occupy all the power plants and leave the country in the dark, which would cripple the power of Ukrainian defense and so on.  

## Where's The Danger

The immediate danger for Romania is at Odessa, because if that part is occupied, [Transnistria](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transnistria) is next, then Moldova. Transnistria is pro Russian territory. Moldova is a very small country, with an even smaller army, which has no necessary military equipment or training. So taking over Moldova is a half a day job, unfortunately. If Moldova falls, then Romania has the longest border with the new Russia. Crimea is under Russian occupation for a long time, the Snakes island as well.

The [French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_aircraft_carrier_Charles_de_Gaulle) will be repositioned to the Black Sea. This is the latest decision, which means I'm not the only one thinking the Black Sea is of key importance at the moment.

To calm everyone down and not to cause panic, everyone says Russia won't attack a NATO country, but ... but there's always a BUT! I think as long as Russia is busy with Ukraine, we are safe. However, accidents can happen and one wrongly fired missile can start an even bigger war. 

I need to mention I'm speechless seeing civilian Ukrainians fighting with whatever they have and the army as well. The unity and the determination of this nation is amazing.  

## What's Going On In Romania

If I turn off the news and go out, life is as nothing has happened. People are living their lives as before. However, that is just the first impression, as there are concerns among the population. After the nuclear power plant has been hit, some people have rushed to the pharmacy, seeking medication for radiation sickness. This is highly dangerous as it has been explained in TV. Treatment has to be taken right after the accident happened and has to be the right dose as well. Otherwise you can cause yourself serious harm, like thyroid cancer. 

Another worrying news has come from the border with Ukraine, where people have started to build concrete barricades right at the border. I can't condemn their action. People are afraid. 

Panic can also be seen as people are exchanging local currency in EURO, also withdrawing cash in case something happens. 

What is the worst so far is that there has been two cases, where people have been airing the sound of sirens from a megaphone, shouting that the war has started. One of the groups has streamed the whole prank on a social media platform, which I don't wish to mention. So far these people have been fined but I hope authorities won't stop here. These people need to be locked and thrown away the key as this is sick, literally. 

Others on the other hand are working on collecting what they can, to help those in need, sending supplied to the refugee centers. I've identified two centers in my area, have bought toiletries already, there are some products I still need to buy and at the beginning of next week I'm ready to contribute with my pack of products.
