## The way something starts, doesn't always indicate how it will end.
<p></p>

Consider for example, [**Soichiro Honda**](http://www.nytimes.com/1991/08/06/world/soichiro-honda-auto-innovator-is-dead-at-84.html).
Did you know that he was **denied a job working for Toyota??** 
Undeterred, he started making scooters in his garage. 
And you, or someone you know, 
has certainly owned one of his namesake vehicles.

Consider also Albert Einstein, who was a late bloomer.
He didn't start speaking until he was 4.
He didn't read until he was 7. 
He went on to spend seven years working far below
his potential as a patent examiner. 
He was, basically, a "temp employee"... not even valued enough 
for a greater position.  And that was fine, because he used those years 
to draft the theory of relativity.

## What does Honda and Einstein have to do with HempCoin?
<p></p>

Like Einstein, HempCoin is a late bloomer. 
Having launched in 2014, it is not a new crypto-kid. 
But it stayed at nascent pricing all of its life, 
and near the end of 2017 it **came alive.**

### Since that time, HempCoin has had a few missteps, including:

🚧 Announcing, and missing, a hard fork date. 
(The hard fork is expected February 23rd. 
'Second quarter' is stated in the whitepaper, to safeguard against 
another missed deadline, and to allow for circumstances that are beyond 
the control of HempCoin, like Bittrex's synchronization process.)

🚧 Announcing, and not yet delivering, a new website.
(It really **is** coming soon.)

🚧 Announcing, and changing, the cost of a THC Masternode.
(The final collateral stake is 20K coins. The final block reward is 25.)

Investors and speculators, understandably, have had their faith shaken. 

And even when *not* warranted, the crypto-space tends to cry out "Scam!" 
and "Shitcoin!" faster than my [**orphaned kitty**](https://steemit.com/photography/@erikaharris/please-meet-boca-my-new-big-mouthed-teacher-that-i-adore) cries for his *Kitten Dust* formula.

I'm also sitting in a position of 'loss' (for now),
but I dug deeper and became an ambassador. Why??

### Because HempCoin is RESPONSIVE + SELF-CORRECTING. Exciting highlights include:

🌿 HempCoin's public interface needed improvement. There was no identifiable face or voice, and one was needed. So they corrected that with a new [Community Manager](https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@erikaharris/hempcoin-has-a-new-and-needed-community-manager-ambassador-program-or-or-usdthc), and also a new Ambassador Program. HempCoin's official social media channels include: [Twitter](https://twitter.com/TheHempCoin), [Discord](https://discordapp.com/invite/5qJGbv9), [Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/thehempcoin/), [Telegram](https://t.co/okXxzIj2Sw), and [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/HempCoin). This shows their desire to be accessible, transparent and engaging.

🌿 Transactional privacy remains a problem for crypto. And also there was room for HempCoin to grow its **usability** and **visibility**. They are addressing these challenges with HempPAY's new, pioneering payment solutions. Mass adoption is the goal, of course.

🌿 A brand new market has been added. In addition to hemp, agriculture, and cannabis, HempCoin will now also target **tobacco**! This smart move grants $THC access to all 50 U.S. states, as well as most countries. *#strategy*

🌿 HempCoin is listed on Bittrex, which isn't accepting new Bittrex account registrations until after the fork. People need greater access, so listings on additional exchanges are being pursued.


#### Just as Soichiro Honda did, HempCoin is working *hard* to deliver a highly innovative, globally recognized currency that I believe will be well worth the minor delays.
