# The Ouroboros

It first appeared in ancient Egyptian iconography. Then moved on to the Phonecians. Then the Greeks. And, ultimately, Maya civilization.

When I first learned about cancun.com's competitive hiring event, I was overtaken with excitement, and had BEGUN the process of applying for it, even though I hadn't THOUGHT about it.

$10K/month, for 6 months in Cancun, experiencing, documenting and sharing adventures and voluntaryism... what's to think about, right?!

Exactly.

So I just jumped.

Then, gulped. 

'Cause I was gonna need help pulling it off. 

And I dislike asking for help. Which is sick and proud.

#### But your sweet selves are actually helping me heal of that!!

# 1.  Which brings me to the FIRST reason I feel like I've already won.
<p><p>

I'm human. *Very.* Part of my self-doubt story has been that I don't have friends who either understand, or support, my (sense of) mission in life. Well, only because of help received, I'm #64 out of 3,200+ submissions. And there is plenty of excellent, beautiful, *professional* talent.

And I wonder, sometimes, if I diminished my corporate likability by being so forward about my love of cannabis. 

Ooops! haha 😉

Anyway, by adding a monotonous chore to their calendars, and voting for me daily, MY FRIENDS HAVE PROVEN MY SAD STORY WRONG. They have showed up, moved numbers, *and that makes me feel like a winner.*


# 2.  The SECOND reason I feel like I've already won is because I LIVE IN ACAPULCO! 
<p></p>

Tropical sunsets are already mine. Fresh, fagrant mangos and pineapples... avocados and limes, cheeeeeeeap. Already mine. An ocean. A bay. **Sunshine everyday.** Hot salsa... both to eat, and to dance to. Mine. Warm eyes and smiles, you cannot help but reflect back. Lively trumpets. And clapping! And fireworks. This city is *full* of life.  Your environment can give you an edge on happiness. And who doesn't want that?

So while considering things I could be preparing myself for -- as a forward-thinking CEO :-) -- it occurred to me how similar that potential and desired experience in Cancun, resembles the real and actual life I currently enjoy in Acapulco.

Although... without the great money!

But the core of my current life, resembles my future desired life. This shows a high degree of being in agreement with myself, *and that makes me feel like a winner!*

# 3.  And the THIRD reason I feel like I have already won... I was not expecting. 
<p></p>

I was, and am, financially motivated. Not gonna lie... there is *need* of that money! But something MORE important has been occupying me. 

It feels like a magnet... the Maya Mystery. This hiring event has brought me to [**ancient information**](http://redwheelweiser.com/downloads/mayanouroboros.pdf) that my heart somehow recognizes. **And wants to be near.** I know that sounds weird. I promise my feet are firmly on the ground. And...

**“You are another me, and I am another you.”** 💋
