0.000 HBDA Model S for the price of a Model 3: good deal?
Yesterday I updated my [progress towards a Model 3](https://steemit.com/tesla/@erikklok/3sbyc5-progress-towards-a-model-3). Shortly after that I found a Tesla Model S that is cheaper than the expected M3 starting price. Would that be a good deal? [Source](https://pixabay.com/nl/auto-elektrische-tesla-1209912/) # About the car The car is a Certified Pre Owned (CPO) Model S 60 from 2012 with about 116,000 kilometers on the odometer. It has free Supercharging for life, a battery warranty until 2020 and a general warranty till 160,000 km. It is on sales for just under €40,000. # Pro's and con's Compared to the Model 3 the main advantages are that you can own this car within weeks instead of 2 years, that the car is bigger (if you consider that an advantage) and that Supercharging is free. The disadvantages are that the efficiency of the car is worse (it consumes more energy per kilometer), the warranty is limited and repairs will probably be a lot more expensive (because the new car is twice the price). # Should I buy the car? It would be great to own a Tesla within a couple of weeks. At the moment however, I'm still far off from the budget I need to buy one. That said, it might even be an advantage that the Model 3 is still two years away. Besides that, I quickly checked some insurance quotes and that wasn't very encouraging (they would charge me at least €250 a month). Given that, I decided not to buy the Model S and keep saving for a 3. As I'm writing this post, I see that the car is not on the Tesla website anymore. I guess someone else is going to be very happy with his new car. And I don't need to think about how great it could be anymore...
