Citizen Science: Project FeederWatch -- Count #03 Report w/Original Photos
Citizen science is a great way to involve children and adults in discovery and contribute to scientific research and conservation. Project FeederWatch through Cornell University is a great way to get involved in citizen science. You can learn more at the [Project FeederWatch](http://feederwatch.org) website.

I typically watch birds on Saturday and Sunday.  This is my report for 24-25 November 2018.

# Weather

### Saturday, 24 November 2018

The morning started off sunny and progressively got cloudier during the day.  The winds were light. Rain developed during the evening with 0.07 inches of precipitation.

High: 53 (F)
Low:  30 (F)

Winds from the Northeast
Average Wind Speed: 6 mph
Highest Gust: 29 mph

### Sunday, 25 November 2018

Overnight snow brought about 0.5 inches of snow accumulation with 0.06 inches of precipitation.  Strong winds with blowing snow during the day with overcast skies.

High: 38 (F)
Low:  21 (F)

Winds from the North
Average Wind Speed: 24 mph
Highest Gust: 50 mph

# Squirrel

<p> An animal, possibly a raccoon broke my bird feeder I was using for the peanuts.  So I switched to a different style of bird feeder to hold the peanuts. </p>

<p> Nuts!!! Bird feeders full of peanuts but no way to access the peanuts for a squirrel. </p>

### Downy Woodpecker

The Downy Woodpecker had no trouble accessing and eating the peanuts.

The Downy Woodpecker also enjoyed some frozen peanuts on Sunday.
