Today is another interesting edition of #hivelearners contest  of #hl-w58e3 which I really love the opportunity giving to everyone by the moderators to write on the topic of their choice

My choice of topic is "SUICIDE IS NOT AN OPTION"

I have my reasons before I choose this topic to write on, it is so painful seeing people commiting suicide everyday, it really bitter my heart, suicide is not the next option.

I know things are going out of hand in this country and from there depression set in but taking your life is not a good ideal at all, I believe things will get better someday.

I shed tears yesterday when I went out and I saw people gathered along the road side in a bridge, I walked in and asked a man what is going on here and the man told me that a young lady jumped into the river, I was so devastated and said no matter what happened must she commit suicide, though I do not know why she jumped into the river but that should not be the next option.

I was furious when I saw people recording video of her instead to rush to her and help her relax but No, the best they could do is to record the minute she jumped into the river and later saying they did not know she mean it but why are people heartless.

No one could rescue that girl yesterday and that is another loss in her family, suicide is an ungodly act which we need to educate ourselves on it.

When we are going through hard time please let us speak up not to people that will mock us but to people that are knowledgeable to understand our feelings, suicide should not be an option for us at all.

We still have people who are ready to listen and help us, all of us in this country can not be mean, depression is real but do not let it take a better part of your life, never allow depression in your life, let us have a partner which can understand us we'll when we are troubled.

There was a time when my senior brother nearly committed suicide because he was jobless and things was very hard for him that period, he was depressed and things gone tough and tougher for him, what really pushed him was when he saw most of his mate riding the latest car in town and they could not help him instead they turned him into joker, they mocked him and from their depression started and started to think negatively.

He attempted to commit suicide but I do not know what really pushed me to go to his room that day and I saw him, he was about to drink poison, I shouted and everyone in the house rushed to his room and started pleading for him not to reason or try that again and he adhere to it.

Some month later he won scholarship to study for his master's degree in London and now he is doing fine in London because he was giving permit to work as well. So I see this as an example, what if he has taking his own life will he be able to travel out for his master's degree in London, the scar will always be in our heart in the family and we will not forgive ourselves.

Now those friends mocking him are now finding ways to move closer to him, some are even begging for money from him. It is a great lesson which I hold on to, please let us preach to one another, suicide is not an option for us.
