## **Introduction on what jquery forum is** According to http://jquery.com... >jQuery is a fast, small, and feature-rich JavaScript library. It makes things like HTML document traversal and manipulation, event handling, animation, and Ajax much simpler with an easy-to-use API that works across a multitude of browsers... [Source](http://jquery.com) Hence as an online JavaScript library and good source of JavaScript related information, ***questions*** are bound to arise. And how these ***questions*** are presented as well as the ***time taken*** to respond to each and every questions is a great factor that would have positive or negative impact on the general well being of the platform. ## **The current format of question and answer section not ideal** The present format of how questions and answers section are built on jquery forum, does not speed up the process of receiving answers to particular questions in a timely manner. Neither does it facilitate friendship between the person asking the question and the persons providing answers. ***let's consider the below images to appreciate what is being pointed out here*** https://s17.postimg.org/a2uaxily7/1514962600191.jpg https://s17.postimg.org/mu8h41yb3/1514962712145.jpg In the screenshot image above, one user known as ***VVU1*** asked a question under ***Getting Started Category***. Looking at the red arrow, the question was ***7 days*** old and attracted ***5 replies***. However, when you take a closer look at the time those that replied responded, you will find out that the quickest answer to the question was the answer given by one ***Jakecigar*** and the answer came ***6 days*** after. The question was asked 7 days ago while the quickest answer came 6 days after; meaning that a whole day elapsed before the first ever answer came! ***And this is where the problem lies***. ## **My suggestion** Asking question in an online forum and receiving the quickest answer ***after a whole day*** is not ideal in the contemporary world where information travels at speed of light. Because the information being sought after might be needed as quickly as the moment the question was asked. This is the crux of this suggestion. It is intended to abridge the gap so that answers to particular questions are more forthcoming. ***Thus, building a chat up button which would show those that are online at all times, will enable one to chat up a number of them and asked his/her questions directly.*** ***This will lead to a more speedy response to questions while also enhancing rapport between users of jquery.com*** ## **How this suggestion should be carried out** * Visit http://forum.jquery.com * Build a white borderline *box tab* as shown by the red arrow below beside *Recent post tab* indicating the number of people online. https://s17.postimg.org/pplkal9xb/1514964542449.jpg * The tab should be built in such a way that when it is clicked, it would open in a new browser page to display those who are online as below... https://s17.postimg.org/4spc60z2n/Screenshot_20171230-173018.png ## **Conclusion** With the above suggested arrangement, anyone who wants to ask a question can chat up those who are online at particular time and ask his question directly with a more likelihood of having the question answered in a jiffy. This will definitely lead to closer rapport between participants and a more stronger community.
