Hello Steemians! Happy Tuesday!!

I read a post yesterday which slated using stereotypical subjects for your posts. It stated that you should avoid this subjects because they had been written-to-death, that everyone fell into the trap of writing about them – especially newbies.

These subjects were things like “happiness”, “grief”, “success”, “anger” and “change”. I must admit that having read this post, I stamped my foot quite hard and bumbled around my bedroom growling a little bit – this person had basically listed most of the subjects that I love to read about- that I enjoy writing posts about. Did this mean that I was a cliché?

Then it dawned on me. The reason that these subjects are so heavily covered is that they are at the heart of being human. They are in our universal settings. I think it would be fair to say that every human being will experience happiness, grief, success, anger, change and the rest at least once in their lives (or once an hour for some of them!) And of course we are going to write about them.

The main thing that got under my skin about this post was the fact that the author went on to state that unless “we had something new to say” about these clichés, it would be better if we chose another topic. Something more original.

>What could be more new or original that YOU talking about how YOU experience these states and emotions? No one IN THE WORLD will experience them like you do, NO ONE IN THE WORLD will talk about them and unravel how to deal with them like you do. Because you are UNIQUE.

So, my friends, don't let anyone diminish your shine. When you are writing, recording or drawing your Ulogs, remember that *you are the celebrity and we are your fans* - tell us exactly what you want to tell us about. Disregard what other people think you should be talking about or writing about, and speak from your heart. No one will be able to tell us *what* you tell us, nor *how* you tell us. This is the beauty of @surpassinggoogle’s Ulogs.
