One of the things that I'm most proud of as [a citizen of Hive nation](https://leofinance.io/@taskmaster4450/are-you-a-citizen-of-hive-or-a-user), is the fact that Hive can literally change lives. The ability of someone to sit down in front of a computer or mobile phone, and using their own creativity, improve their station in life. 

It really does happen. 

From what I've dubbed; ["The Boreholes of Hope"](https://leofinance.io/@collinz/mhfhpoqy) in Ghana, to the industrious people surviving in sanctioned countries around the world, due to the utility of Hive. While some have been accused of being leeches - only here to "take" from the platform - I've envisioned a promising way forward that will allow those in developing countries to thrive, while laying the groundwork to support the Hive community far into the future.

It goes something like this:

<h2>Laying The Foundation</h2>

Using a simple device, a person starts creating content and interacting with the community, while building a solid reputation on Hive. Over time, they begin gaining traction and a steady token stream develops. At the start, due to their perilous economic situation, these earnings are used simply to survive and allow their family to get through another day. 

Continuing on, will see them grow as a blogger and content creator, that they're able to save up to purchase a small food cart and products to sell at the local market. At this point, there's still a token outflow, but that's about to change...

Recall the old saying that ["Rome wasn't built in a day"](https://english-grammar-lessons.com/rome-wasnt-built-in-a-day-meaning/), all of this is being viewed through the lens of a compressed time frame in order to illustrate that this can (and indeed does) happen. 

The embryonic food cart multiplies or becomes a regular stall at the market. I've even read of someone who rented a small store with proceeds gained from the [blockchain](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/blockchain). At this point, there are enough resources coming in that a reserve is put aside for a rainy day, and that's when we move on to the next stage of the plan.

<h2>Building Up And Giving Back</h2>

At this point, they now move up from being a net exporter of the HIVE token, to a "stacker" building up his account. This will allow him to better curate other Hiveians by growing his HP and having a greater impact with engagement.

Instead of always powering down and extracting from the platform, he now begins to use some of his market earnings to start <i><b>buying</b></i> HIVE. This starts a virtuous cycle where he needs to rely on his blockchain resources less and less, and can split them between building up his account and supporting the [token](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token) price by buying.

Our industrious Hive citizen has now become a good provider for his family, and a living example that Hive truly is the springboard to a better life.
