At the Vnukovo International Airport a photo exhibition "Travel at home. Summer". Exposition of 18 pictures, prepared in conjunction with the portal on the event tourism TRIP2RUS.RU, was located on the second floor in the departure hall of Terminal A.

Traditionally, the best photos of regional authors were included in the photo-selection. Visitors to the exhibition will see the beauties and attractions of the Moscow, Yaroslavl, Tver, Tula, Samara, Pskov, Arkhangelsk and Sverdlovsk regions, Primorsky Krai, the Republics of Karelia and Komi. Each photo is a short story about the region.

The Vologda region is represented by the photographer from Veliky Ustyug Daniil Zinchenko, who captured a rainbow over the church of Simeon Stylites and the Sukhona River.

The photo exhibition emphasizes the tourist attractiveness of Russian regions.

Book-winner

Several books of the "Antiquities of the North" were included in the long-list of the ASKI Competition "The Best Books of 2017"!

This year, for the first time, we decided to send several of our books to participate in the contest of the Association of Book Publishers of Russia - the prestigious competition of the largest all-Russian professional community of publishers. This year the long-list includes 13 nominations, in which 126 books are named. Among them - 4 books "Antiquities of the North"! In the nomination "The best book contributing to the development of the regions of Russia" - two books "Great Ustyug: A Journey Through Time" and "Splinters of Time: Totma in the photographs of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries"; in the nomination "The best book about Russia (history, culture, modern life of the country and peoples inhabiting it") - the book "Russia of the epoch of Vladimir the Great: state, church, culture"; in the nomination "The best book of a memoir-biographical and historico-documentary character" Dialogue with the time "- a book by V.T. Shalamov "The Fourth Vologda."
It's nice that the debut of the publishing house "Antiquities of the North" in this contest begins so successfully! It is interesting that the reader has already "voted" - the circulations of all these publications have already ended (although, perhaps, they are still in stores)! Congratulations, first of all, to the authors of these books, which passed through the preliminary filter of a highly professional jury! It should be noted that in the preparation of three of the four books named above, the employees of the Antiquities of the North took part also as authors, compilers or members of the editorial board, and one of the books "Veliky Ustyug: A Journey Through Time" - is completely our project, a number of creative people of Vologda and Ustyug. We will wait for the solemn summarizing of the results of the contest, which will be held on June 1 in Moscow within the framework of the book festival "Red Square". - writes the publishing house "Antiquities of the North."

Photo exhibition in Veliky Ustyug

On May 17, in the foyer of the second floor of the Velikiy Ustyug Central Library, a personal photo exhibition of the photojournalist of the newspaper "Soviet thought" Daniil Zinchenko "My picturesque land" opened.

The exhibition presents works that depict the views of Veliky Ustyug and the district at different times of the year and at different times of the day. These are winter photographs of hummocks and spring - ice drifts on the Sukhona River, temples of Velikiy Ustyug in the daytime and at night, the northern lights above the city, etc.
Daniel told the audience how he chooses the plot and time for shooting, shared his professional secrets, showed the technique with which he works. The book exhibition Daniel supplemented with photo cards and magazines, in which his photographs were printed.

Newspaper article

In the newspaper Velikoustyugsky district published an author's article about the Holy Cross Exaltation of Simon-Volom hermitage. In the newspaper, I work as a photographer, but decided to try myself as a journalist. The text was taken from my own blog from the records of the trip to this ancient region, and only a few in some places have been reworked and adapted for the newspaper.
