How to not lose time/money on Steem when the site is down
# **I know this may or may not sound ground breaking to you...but not everything has to sound revolutionary**

But you can open your favorite word processor, something like https://evernote.com/?var=c(which I use all the time as my online journal and deserves a post of it's own) or even notepad app. And write down your thoughts in digital form - so you can just copy and paste when Steemit is back online.

**AND NEVER FOR GET THE 4 LETTERS IN THE TOP LEFT-HAND CORNER OF THE SCREEN**

# B-E-T-A – which basically means the platform is still under public testing before an official release and these types of things should be expected

**Also, I needed this blog as my own reminder to be patient. I would rather the developers take every security measure they can now and have down time - than later on have an issue where I lose weeks, months, or if not all of my future steem/account.** Especially if you're someone like https://steemit.com/steemit/@kevinpham20/how-i-walked-away-from-it-all-and-retired-at-29-and-how-steem-is-helping-me who decided to change his definition of the word “retirement” so he could focus on doing something he loved. Another wonderful concept.

#steemit #tips #help

# So in short – don't get discouraged when Steemit.com goes down for maintenance. They are protecting our investment! Full Steem ahead, whatever it takes.
