*Things have been pretty hectic for me as of late. Mostly due to the reason we've now got this lovable rogue of a dog to look after. So the crypto markets have been more than a bit of an after thought ever since. But now everything is settling down to some form of normality again, I have time to check up on the latest **STEEM** related gossip. And it seems like I've missed some absolute gems...*

The biggest of which is the new system of currency **Steem Monsters** has now employed. **DEC** *(Dark Energy Crystals)* tokens are earnable through playing the ranked game as normal. Although there is also the option to *burn* or *destroy* cards to acquire **DEC's** in return. 

With these **DEC's**, you can either use them in-game to purchase various items from the shop. New characters skins are on offer, as well as options to balance the odds in your favour of possibly revealing some coveted *Legendary* or *Gold-Foil* cards by using special potions. In addition to this, **DEC's** are exclusively tradable on the **Steem-Engine** exchange against **STEEM** and a multitude of another digital assets. How's that for an incentive to keep playing and climbing that **Steem Monsters** ladder!

"Staggering" and "mind-blowing" are just a few of the adjectives that spring to mind to describe how this game is unfolding. So I'll just go ahead and say it. Both @aggroed and @yabapmatt are pretty much essential to this blockchain. Their ingenious innovations and exemplary deliverance of them, are unparalleled in the world of Dapps. Thank the goddamn stars we've got them on-board to see this blockchain to it's next evolutionary stage with such amazing products to showcase. Just speechless.

*I've been playing the game for the last hour now and I'm absolutely loving this new element to the game. This is the benchmark definition of "earn-while-you-play". And I'm very excited to see what else is to come from these guys in the future.
