So everyone is talking about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a private asset that you yourself can control, not banks, not middlemen, not anyone but you. There's this big positive point that makes Bitcoin attractive to most speculators and libertarians which is privacy and the mean to keep your shopping, just to make the easiest example, private as much as you are able to. We're moving towards a society and a marketplace that, by contrary, doesn't reward privacy, but as this site is showing us, sharing is more rewarding. And we're talking about very simple things here, just to tickle our thoughts. Sharing informations, our goals and achievements is becoming more and more acceptable. Everything about our life, be it "real" or "virtual", a difference that doesn't make sense anymore since if nowadays you are not on the internet you basically don't exist. So what is the meaning of keeping your things private if information is becoming more and more abundant? What happens when a thing is really abundant? Let's get back to the basics of economics: it gets cheaper and cheaper. This is what is happening with privacy: it's becoming not only limiting for the individual, but most likely obsolete. In a world like this, very few people at the beginning, and then less and less will be interested in your life and privacy, until a day when noone cares about it anymore and it's just an ordinary thing. Because everyone will know everything about anyone. We're moving towards a world where keeping secrets is not only detrimental for the ongoing evolution of society, but for yourself too, because you're cutting out your ability to "trade" your informations for other informations that you may found valuable about something else. There are a few things that you will be very happy to share about your life, your daily habits in order to receive a better service in your own home, because domotics is becoming a reality and a day where a simple artificial intelligence will organize everything for you is pretty near. And even your dreams you will want to share, in a world that it's generating an environment where you can express and materialize your expectations and imagination: virtual reality. Once it gets rooted enough in our world, we will probably see how people will be happy to give up on their privacy in order to get better services in this dream world we all know it's coming soon to our houses. This is just a tought provoking little post that will serve as an introduction on a topic I will develop in the coming weeks and I want to hear fresh opinions about this before going deeper in what my ideas are about this. I'm a small holder of bitcoins and I'm really excited for this new technology that will offer just this, in my opinion, the full ability to see what's happening behind the scenes of the most important institutions and markets. Because a society that functions well will want to know these things and move towards a completely transparent setup.
