Afri-inleo Initiative week 48 comes with another interesting theme that I considered timely due to the global change in the sphere of music that we have currently. Special thanks to all the management crew for consistently bringing up engagement that keeps the participants busy. 

Music is life and everything is music. Music is a global language simply because of the capacity it has to transcend cultures, languages, locations,etc. music has the ability to create connections, evoke emotions and a very good means of communication today.

Music does a lot that is beyond the understanding of man many times. I may not be able to explain everything about music and how it affects the international community but I would attempt to share my little views.

Music has the ability to unite the people and evoke emotions globally. In the nation where I hail from called Nigeria, there are lots of songs that when you listened to them it helps to buried all kind of indifference and embrace the message it portrayed. Infact you would not mind wether it's coming from any religion or not. There is this hausa song written and sang by a famous musician in the middle belt region of Nigeria. Mr sheks was able to release a top notch song that travels across all social strata, religious appellation, states and varied cultures. Predominantly I could hear politicians using it during their campaigns from one location to another. The song was in Hausa "Meaning we would give them surprise". Any where wedding, birthdays or party of any kind is taking place you would see the DJ slamming such songs and the crowd within get excited and dance away their problem. This is a clear indication that truly music bonds people together globally. 

Aside such African kind of songs, there are songs from legendary singers like Bob Marley, lucky Dube, Michael Jackson etc. All these were able to make an indelible impact in the world system. Their songs speaks and evoke people's emotions and thought patterns. Sometimes it makes one to make amends and a sober reflection in areas where necessary. It's beautiful to see music connecting cultures, people and other things.

Music is a vital means of communication in those years and even presently. I could remember when our dad offend our mother instead of her to pick up fight she would quickly turned it to a song especially while cooking or sweeping the house. After a while she would get out of it. This succeeded in healing her emotions and communicate. There are some people that are timid and have low self esteem. One of the ways they can convey their feelings into music. Like in Nigeria, if you wanna talk to the kind policies enshrined by the government that doesn't appeal to people it's music that enables them to capture that.

Music is a powerful form of creativity that helps to pass on personality or reveal who am individual is. Experiences and memories are shared which equally become a means to guide one. One's experience could be means mentor or guide one.

Music is a platform for restoration, harmony, peace and tranquility. Truly music is a language for all. Sometimes even if you can't speak or understand the language at least you can dance and exercise your body.
