I want to use this medium to express my profound gratitude to the entire management team of this ever growing community. Sometimes I kept wondering how you manage to scrutinized numerous entries and draw conclusion with just a few. This tells me that it's not easy but the force of God has been by your side giving you all the necessary directions and guidance. I never knew I would be picked as one of the nominees of the last contest. Who am I to scale through panels of Judges? Sincerely I have come to return all thanks for this rare gesture confined on me.

The theme for this prompt is timely and coming at the right time. One of the factors that differentiate great people from others is the ability to engage in self review. It could be periodically or anyhow as it seems ok to an individual. I decided to title my write up as the power of self review. This connotes the ability of an individual to take stock of their lives and align themselves to what lies ahead. I will be sharing some deep thoughts and practical measures I have been involving for a number of years now.

One of the ways to measure your level of growth is via self review. This enables you to make critical decisions and proactive steps that would result in total transformation of an individual.

### what are the benefits of self review or self appraisal?
There are plenty significance of self evaluation that can't be overemphasized. I'm quite sure if the revelation of self review was know many years ago, it would have resulted to all round change and advancement by now however it's not late neither is it late to take the bull by the horn and swing into deliberate steps that would bring the desired change. Some of these benefits includes;
* Betterment in decision making. The reason why many struggle at point of critical steps and decisions is because they haven't evaluated themselves. It's expedient to reflect on the pass, present and the future this would help to identify the pitfalls and areas where it needs improvement to create a concrete decision that is result oriented.
* Self evaluation would help an individual to develop and be aware of one's self. It enables you to appraise your weaknesses and identify the opportunity. This will help one to be aware of his or her environment and how to pursue goals.
* One of the outstanding benefits of self review is that it helps one to develop creative and innovative skills that would help to solve tough life challenges.
* Self review also helps to identify areas that one needs mentorship or encouragement.

Personally I don't take self review for granted at any point of time because of the things I have achieved through it. I consistently evaluate my self to know my pitfalls and where I need to seek for help. It has been a wonderful journey all through. 

### Hints for effective self review 

Let me share some relevant tips that would help you review yourself.
* Ask yourself tough provoking questions and be open to answer them.
* Let to be focused and open minded in learning and growing than just criticizing.
* have a scheduled or to do list. This will guide you towards achieving uncommon results.
* Don't look down on yourself and speak positive things to your spirit.

### Conclusion 

Self awareness or review is key and important to whatever we do in life. The more we engage ourselves the more we get better. This is the secret of greatness.
