Stood in a field in the dark and dodging naturists - My week of photography on Hive
Continuing my weekly posts on Hive due to a lack of time and being a wage slave, this was my week of photography on Hive. As the nights in my part of the world draw in, it gives me chance to get out in the dark at a more hospitable time of day.

***Stood in a field in the dark in the middle of nowhere again***

I took a solo trip out into the Peak District to a spot I've had my eye on. A line of interesting twisted trees which I spotted previously driving past on a foggy moonlit night.

I took along my camera rotation tool and went for a simple 180 degree spin. I used a custom white balance I'd used in another location and I realise the colours may be a bit "marmite" for some.

It was also a night where I confirmed what I suspected for a while that a Sony 20mm G f1.8 FE lens with linear focus motors is not much use for camera rotation where as I rotate the camera, the image goes out of focus. I shot this with a Sigma 28-70 Contempary lens with no such focus problems.

I got a bit carried away with the camera rotations; this is a four way spin:

***Sherwood Forest***

I am lucky enough to live close to Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire and this morning’s walk was a reminder to get up early more often.

As I walked through the heathland area bordered by trees, I spotted this localised mist and the rays bursting through. They say the best camera is the one you have with you and in this case it was my iPhone 14 Pro. I made a note to myself to bring my "proper" camera next time.

***Naturists?***

I genuinely thought they’d made a spelling mistake when I spotted this sign. This was nailed to the fence leading in to Budby Forest, a woodland I've walked in many times but I ain't never seen anyone in a state of undress!

***Who'd have thought my car roof would make a great foreground?***

We arrived at this location in the Peak District hoping the skies would be clear for some astrophotography. It wasn't to be but we managed to catch a half decent sunset with my iPhone:

Note to self; clean your damn car!

I also shot one with the "proper" camera, my Sony A7iii:

***The Last Light***

When the aim of the photography trip fails, it's always good to have a "Plan B"

I waved the lights whilst a willing volunteer aka victim posed with a torch on the edge of a cliff!

***About me:***
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
