My scam story is similar to that of @swissclive
Here is my own story......

It happened to me 5years(2013) ago in the ancient city of Ibadan, Nigeria. Then, I was a young graduate still searching for job. I graduated in the year 2008, so year 2013 made it 5 years without job. While searching for job, I put in for my masters degree program which I finished in the year 2012. So, I already had my masters but with no job in the year 2013

On this faithful day, a friend of my dad who happens to be lecturer at the Oyo State College of Education asked me to bring my CV to him so that he can help me for a lecturing job in his institution. Oyo town where I went to meet him was just 30 minutes drive from Ibadan. On that faithful day, I did not have any money on me, so, I collected the transport money from my dad (as old as I was). I got to Oyo and met with the man. After I dropped my CV with him, he gave me 1000naira to add to my transport fair.

I started my journey back to Ibadan and the bus I took dropped me at Ojoo area in Ibadan. I took another cab from Ojoo to Iwo-Road. By the time I dropped at Iwo-road, I had 2000naira left on me.
When I got to iwo-road under the bridge, I saw a group of people gathered around a card man(dealer). He will just shuffle 3 cards (2 black and 1 red) and ask someone to pick the red. The deal was to double the amount put if one can pick the red.

I watched for some time and felt it was too easy to pick though I never wanted to use my Money. All of a sudden the card man pointed at me to pick the red and asks me to put 1000naira. As I was about to pick, he immediately asked me to increase the amount to 2000naira just before I touched the card which I initially refused but when he insisted, I gave in as I was so sure to pick the correct card.

I was so surprised when I picked the card and it was black. I couldn't believe and I felt I've been charmed or maybe the whole thing was magic. He asked me to go another round which I declined cos I had no money left on me and immediately they realised that I was not ready to stake any money again, they asked me to leave. That was when I knew the card man was not alone. Other people I met there that has been winning were together with him.

I refuse to leave and wanted to create a scene when one man called me aside and asked to leave the place peacefully before they gang up to beat me.

I felt so bad that day as I had nothing left on me and I trekked back home that faithful day. It was so painful that day cos my house is another 11km distance from Iwo-Road and I had to walk that distance.

After one week, I saw those guys again and went there to watch them, that was when I discovered what they do. After asking you to pick, if they discover that your hand is going to the right place, they will look for what to use to distract your attention and change the card. That was exactly what they did when they asked me to increase my stake form 1000naira to 2000naira. My attention was distracted and they changed the card.
That is how I was scammed of the last money on me.

On a final note, let me say we have different kind of scam and those that are greedy and gullible tends to fall victim easily.
