In the last 2-3 years there have been many blockchain startups from India. Especially considering Indian government's preference for blockchain tech vs blockchain tech with tokenisation (cryptocurrencies) many new projects have mushroomed. That's not to say that many of these have been sustainable either or successful in building a scalable product. However, quite a few of them have done considerably well. <center></center> You can find a few names [here](https://inc42.com/features/watchlist-indian-blockchain-startups/) and these startups especially PrimeChain, Auxledger have been able to get sufficient investment as well as development going for them. We're just 5 days away from the next hearing at the Supreme Court of India where the fate of cryptocurrencies in the Indian market is awaiting a decision. Many new projects today which intend to tokenize their product have either moved to Malta, Singapore or Estonia. These countries have rather welcomed them with open arms. However, on the bright side today there are more blockchain conferences and meetups happening in the country than ever before. A Hyderabad based blockchain start-up Zebi has recently acquired a Bangalore based blockchain startup Element42 and there are more similar things happening. The blockchain tech space is witnessing a tremendous growth and in the next 2 years we'll see dozens of new startups in this space. However, we are a long way from a seeing any 'unicorns' in this sector from India. (Unicorns are startups with $1b valuations). But I reckon with stable policies, government and regulations that allow room for emerging technologies to capture the market we might see one of these startups gain momentum, enough to get that status in the years to come. One can only hope eh?
