 I’m not feeling too special today. I’m still sick almost 2 weeks after coming down with this flu. It's been a week now since I "came to" from the first days of it, wondering what hit me. The prior two days I was basically unconscious and then now for the last week I have been slowly getting better maybe. Today I went back and forth from sleeping and taking a shower. Every time I wake up I am all sticky and so hopefully showering off is getting rid of whatever is still wrong in this sick body. My left arm and hand are still really sore from the guy who hit me, but the coughing fits are getting better, so yay! Often when I talk about my extreme weight loss, people tell me they cannot do what I did because I am “special.” Somehow I had/have some superpower they do not have and so they cannot do it too. They are doomed to be fat until their dying day. I know this is not true and can give many examples of other regular people like me who managed to get the weight off and keep it off long term. But sometimes people would just rather wallow in their misery. Is that what is happening to me with this flu? Is it easier to just stay sick than to come back to health and carry on? I do not know, but I am going back to sleep again and will hope for strength tomorrow. I took this photo at the Farmer’s Market in Coronado California a few years ago. I send it to people when they are sick and need a boost. So today, I send it to myself. My post is for the #freewrite daily challenge by @mariannewest.
