Ground Squirrels are one of my favorite animals because they are so cute and can come very close eventhough they live in wildlife. Thats why you can get pretty nice pictures as a photographer. In about 2 Month they will wake up from their hibernation sleep and i can't await visiting them again. They live in the eastern part of Austria and in parts of eastern Europe and Asia. They are very curious animals and that's why it is easy to take some nice pictures of them. But still most of the time you need to wait a bit to give them enough time to get them to know you. Once they know you are not a thread they come pretty close.

They are very curious and if you bring them a flower or something else they inspect it and most of the time try to eat it. I sometimes bring some carrots or crops for them to eat. I am sure i will visit them several times this year, because also after we take some pictures at this place, we also eat some sweet cakes and have some coffe at a very nice restaurant there. This is already a nice ritual of me and Stefan.
