If you are just starting out, the Cryptoverse can be very overwhelming to say the least trying to work out where you can buy a particular coin and what FIAT or other cryptocurrency you need to use to buy that coin

I use [CoinMarketCap](https://coinmarketcap.com/#GBP) as an all inclusive website to tell you where you can buy a crypto from and what other currency you need to trade with it.

# Figuring out which Exchange sells a Cryptocurrency

Head over to https://coinmarketcap.com

Do a search for the cryptocurrency you are after in the top right search box.

Once the currency is displayed on screen click on the “Markets” tab.

Here you can see a list of exchanges under the “Source” column. I like to group the same markets together by clicking on the “Source” column header.

# Which currency can I use to buy another Cryptocurrency?

Using the waves example, you can see that it is currently available on Bittrex, COSS, Cryptopia and a few more.

The “Pair” column shows you which currencies you can use to buy Waves with, for example:

WAVES/GBP = You can trade British pounds for Waves
WAVES/ETH = You can trade Etherium for Waves
WAVES/BTC = You can trader Bitcoin for Waves

# Automatically link to the Exchange with one click

This is where I feel Coinmarketcap excels - once you have found the exchange you wish to use and the particular currency you want to trade with, you can click on the pair (i.e. WAVES/ETH) and it will take you direct to the trading page of the exchange (in this example Bittrex’s site trading Etherium for waves).
