<div class="text-justify">I haven't taken my camera to photograph insects for a while, although this is one of the things that help me a lot to relax and distract my mind in times of stress, as I have been going through the last few weeks, so this afternoon I decided to take my camera and go out to the garden to see what I could find that was attractive to me and that my little expertise with the macro lens would allow me to photograph, I saw again these leaf-footed bugs that have been on my old lemon balm plant for a little more than a week, and I immediately took my camera and tried to take some decent pictures of them.

A couple of years ago I shared with you some images of these little ones, they were not of very good quality, and at that time I remember that I was surprised by the design of their wings so similar to a tuxedo with their red tie included, at that time my cell phone did not have the capacity to capture small details such as their eyes, texture and color of their wings, and even the tiny details on their abdomen.

I have seen these small adults of the species Hypselonotus Interruptus on several occasions on the lemon balm and witch oregano plants, never on other plants in my garden, which makes me deduce that they feed on the sage of this group of plants, since they are of the same family. I have usually observed them solitary, which makes me deduce that these two are male and female, and must be in mating period, as they have been already for more than a week on the same plant and go out only for a while in the mornings and afternoons to sunbathe, in the rest of the day I do not see them anywhere.

These bugs are also considered bioregulators, since they consume some pests and plants that represent weeds for crops and gardens. Also known as squash bugs, the truth is that there is little information on the web about this particular species, like the vast majority of bugs and hemiptera, given the large number of species that can be found of them. These bugs apparently can be found all over the world depending on the time of the year.

This species may be found with some differences in the colors of their wings and the patterns they form when they are closed, but we will realize that it is the same species by the design of its abdomen that if we look in detail is very similar if not the same. They have an elongated beak that allows them to extract the sage from small buds and tiny flowers, I think this is one of the reasons why they are in this specific plant, since it is flowering recently.

<div class="text-justify">Hace rato que no tomaba mi cámara para fotografiar insectos, aunque esta es una de las cosas que me ayudan mucho a relajarme y a distraer mi mente en momentos de mucho estrés, como los que he estado pasando las últimas semanas, así que esta tarde he decidido tomar mi cámara y salir al jardín para ver que encontraba que fuera atractivo para mí y que mi poca pericia con la lente macro me permitiera fotografiar, he vuelto a ver estas Chinches patas de hoja que ya tienen poco más de una semana en mi vieja planta de toronjil, y de inmediato tome mi cámara e intente hacerle algunas fotografías decentes.

Hace ya un par de años les compartí algunas imágenes de estas pequeñas, las mismas no eran de muy buena calidad, y en ese entonces recuerdo que me sorprendió el diseño de sus alas tan parecido al de un esmoquin con su corbata roja incluida, en ese momento mi teléfono móvil no tenía la capacidad de captar pequeños detalles como sus ojos, textura y color de sus alas, e incluso los diminutos detalles en su abdomen.

Estas pequeñas adultas de la especie Hypselonotus Interruptus las he visto en diversas ocasiones en las plantas de toronjil y de orégano brujo, nunca en otras plantas de mi jardín, lo que me hace deducir que se alimentan de la salvia de este grupo de plantas, ya que son de la misma familia. Por lo general las he observado en solitario, lo que me hace deducir que estas dos son macho y hembra, y deben estar en periodo de apareamiento, pues han estado ya por más de una semana en la misma planta y salen solo un rato en las mañanas y las tardes a tomar sol, en el resto del día no les veo por ningún lado.

Estas chinches también son consideradas biorreguladoras, ya que consumen algunas plagas y plantas que representan maleza para los cultivos y jardines. También con conocidas como chinches de las calabazas, la verdad es poca la información que se encuentra en la web de esta especie en particular, como la gran mayoría de las chinches y hemípteros, dada la gran cantidad de especies que podemos encontrar de las mismas. Estas chinches al parecer se pueden encontrar en todo el mundo dependiendo de la época del año.

Esta especie es posible que la encontremos con algunas diferencias en los colores de sus alas y los patrones que forman estas al estar cerradas, pero nos daremos cuenta de que es la misma especie por el diseño de su abdomen que si observamos en detalle es muy similar para no decir que igual. Tienen un pico alargado que les permite extraer la salvia de pequeños brotes y diminutas flores, creo que esta es una de las razones por las que están en esta planta en específico, ya que la misma está floreciendo recientemente.
