A la hora de escoger, no dudé de que fuera el “Principito”, una fábula del escritor y aviador francés Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Este libro nos regalas variadas y muy hondas reflexiones que tienen que ver con nuestras relaciones con las demás personas y aplicado en todas las esferas de la vida.

En mi caso me ha regalado mucho y cada vez acudo a este libro, para beber de sus enseñanzas que son muchas, pero, aquí les voy a dejar cinco que considero esenciales para todos nosotros:

La amistad es una valiosa herramienta que todo aquel que la posea tiene un tesoro invaluable, debe conservarla, regarla y cultivarla de manera permanente para que no muera. Mi mamá y mi abuela me enseñaron que quien tiene amigos tiene una parte de su existencia en la mitad de esa persona y por tal razón tenía la obligación de cuidar a mis amigos o amigas como parte de lo mejor de mi vida.

Las cosas más importantes de la vida son las emocionales y espirituales, no las cosas materiales como muchos piensan. Esto se inmortaliza en una de las frases más bellas del libro: “Lo esencial es invisible a los ojos”

La responsabilidad hacia las personas y las cosas que amamos. Esto es vital y no basta solo con decirlo, porque lo más importante es demostrarlo con acciones y de manera cotidiana, sistemática y permanentemente. En este aspecto he tenido problemas y no he sido todo lo consecuente que he debido, sobre todo, con mi niña mayor.

La curiosidad como elemento de saber permanente. Es necesario tener una mente abierta a los cambios y que pueda entender a diferentes comportamientos y personalidades porque la vida es evolución, cambio y eso solo se puede lograr si tenemos una mente que pueda entender lo que sucede a nuestro alrededor y no estar estático.

La crítica a la vida de los adultos. Esto hay que entenderlo no como criticar a los adultos, sino, a todo aquel que tiene falta de imaginación, que no tiene pensamiento creativo o inventivo y que han perdido todo vestigio de fantasía.

 

Cada una de las páginas del Principito constituyen una enseñanza para la vida y un mensaje de amor y esperanza.

Muchas personas piensan que, como es un libro escrito para niños, es aplicable solo a este grupo de edades. Pero, lo que debemos saber es que este es un libro que está dirigido a los seres humanos y que si lográramos mantener durante toda la vida la imaginación, pureza y amor que tienen los niños, nuestra vida como adultos sería mucho mejor y nuestros problemas se solucionarán de una mejor manera.

When it came to choosing, I had no doubt that it would be the “Little Prince”, a fable by the French writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This book gives us varied and very deep reflections that have to do with our relationships with other people and applied in all spheres of life.

In my case it has given me a lot and every time I go to this book, to drink of its teachings that are many, but, here I am going to leave you five that I consider essential for all of us:

Friendship is a valuable tool that anyone who possesses it has a priceless treasure, it must be preserved, watered and cultivated permanently so that it does not die. My mother and my grandmother taught me that whoever has friends has a part of his existence in half of that person and for that reason I had the obligation to take care of my friends as part of the best of my life.

The most important things in life are the emotional and spiritual, not the material things as many think. This is immortalized in one of the most beautiful phrases of the book: “The essential is invisible to the eyes”

The responsibility towards the people and things we love. This is vital and it is not enough just to say it, because the most important thing is to demonstrate it with actions and in a daily, systematic and permanent way. In this aspect I have had problems and I have not been as consistent as I should have been, especially with my eldest child.

Curiosity as an element of permanent knowledge. It is necessary to have an open mind to changes and to be able to understand different behaviors and personalities because life is evolution, change and that can only be achieved if we have a mind that can understand what is happening around us and not be static.

Criticism of the life of adults. This must be understood not as criticizing adults, but rather, anyone who has a lack of imagination, who has no creative or inventive thinking and who have lost all vestige of fantasy.

Each page of The Little Prince is a lesson for life and a message of love and hope.

Many people think that, as it is a book written for children, it is applicable only to this age group. But, what we should know is that this is a book that is addressed to human beings and that if we manage to maintain throughout our lives the imagination, purity and love that children have, our life as adults will be much better and our problems will be solved in a better way.
