Hello Hivenaija, it's always a pleasure being here, you guys always come up with some amazing and thoughtful prompts, I hope you guys enjoy this piece. 

>Washed Away - We've all had happy memories, but many of us have had embarrassing or even cringe moments that we wish we could wash away from existence. What is that singular cringe or embarrassing memory you have?


Growing up I was a shy girl, I hated being in the spotlight, whatever would single me out of the crowd, I always found a way to go over it. 

Being publicly embarrassed was one of my fears because I wouldn't be able to face it, so I tried my best to stay out of such. 

My mom left us quite early, so we didn't really get educated at home on puberty and all that it came with at home, it was only at school that I got to learn about it, and this came a little later than when I really needed it. 

So it happened that on a certain day, I woke early that morning got prepared for school, and then left with the school bus that morning. Before I left the house I felt a little ache in my stomach, but I didn't think much of it, as the day progressed, it got a tad bit painful, I also found out I wasn't so active that day, I thought I had eaten something that was causing the stomachache, I just decided to lay low until it was closing time as my aunt would know the type of medicine to give me when I get home.

During lunch period, I managed to have a little of my lunch, because I didn't really have enough appetite as I usually had. After eating, I started feeling somehow, like very uneasy, so I decided to get to the restroom to figure out what was happening, only for me to get up from my desk, and my seatmate had a frightful look on her face. I was disturbed, so I asked her what the problem was, that was when she dragged me back down, all the while, I was thinking about what was wrong with this girl, that was when she told me that my skirt was stained at the back with blood. 

Upon hearing what my friend had just said, I started hyperventilating, you could see the terror in my eyes, I started crying, and I kept asking what was wrong with me, did injure myself and wasn't aware? Was I sick? Would I bleed to death? At that point, I was hysterical, and people were beginning to get curious, I had to keep my voice down so as not to attract the whole class. 

Luckily for me, one of my classmates had her sweater in her bag, which she had to lend me so I could get to the toilet without causing a stare from my classmates. I was so grateful to her.

I got to the restroom and found out my uniform was a mess, my seatmate and friend had to go report the incident to our teacher who came to my rescue. She came a with sanitary pad and explained what the situation was, and also guided me on how to use the sanitary pad me the sanitary pad
She also got me a skirt to wear because there was no way I could wear mine without laundering it. 

Throughout the day, I had to remain in the sick bay as I didn't feel so good. I felt really embarrassed because I wasn't prepared for that occurrence and didn't know what to do, which led to my school uniform being stained. So if I could wash away any experience, this would be one of those.
