Encryption should be a Human Right! Shouldn't it be?

Encryption is both freedom of speech and privacy, therefore the existing laws and legal landscape can easily cover it under it. Encrypting a message or a secret or some other kind of information is not the same as putting it under the doormat, it's much secure.

Hiding physical objects could be done, but it's much harder with all the metal detectors, sniffing dogs, and security cameras everywhere. It has become almost impossible to hide physical objects. If you were to bury your chest of gold somewhere in the forest, some asshole with a metal detector nearby can easily find it. It has become truely hard to hide physical objects, that is why we hide it digitally.

After all we don't hide the object itself, but rather the secret in it or the identity of it. If I were to store that chest of gold in a vault, where millions of others store it, and the thief wants to steal it from me, he will have to identify my chest of gold first, and to whom it belongs. If there are just bullions there, then it will become practically impossible to distinguish my gold from your gold, unless you have access to the documents and financial statements, but those will be encrypted.

Of course storing something with a 3rd party will still make it vulnerable to asset freezing and government inspection, but still better than hiding your asset in plain sight. So we turn to decentralized wealth: Bitcoin ,Steem, and others.

Cryptocurrency is wealth, in decentralized way, bound to you by encryption. You have a secret private key or multiple that controls all your money. You encrypt that, and suddenly only you have access to it. All your wealth essentially stored in your mind.

Now where does that leave us? Well the point is that it's both freedom of speech, and the sovereignty of your mind. Your adversary can still use torture and extort them out of you, but it can only gain access to it if you give it to them. Therefore the right to encrypt your data is the right to your private mind.

Now who in the hell would want to give up the privacy of their own minds? That would be orwellian, some people have gave up too much privacy: their homes, their body, their wealth. But to give up privacy of your mind, I believe many people would find that absolutely disgusting.

Hopefully the legislators would realize this (after all they also have dirty secrets in their minds that they don't want us to know), so it's just better if everyone keeps their privacy, and their right to encrypt whatever, whenever they want.
