We are living in truly great times. I know there's a lot of shit out there, but Steemit is proving in a world where the ordinary person is screwed over daily there is a place anyone can reach out to, participate in and make their lives financially better. I'm not excusing all the shit that goes on within the Steemit community but there can be no doubt Steemit is bringing people together in a community that enriches our lives.

The current explosion in the price of Steem is yet another delightful surprise and a great start to the new year. This comes after we have seen SBD maintain an average price of $9 for the last six weeks. It is truly incredible and I hope, like me, you are all making the most of it. 

I could never have imagined the huge increase in the value of SBD and Steem and it is testament to what Steemit is achieving in this world. Putting all the shit to one side, Steemit is bringing people together, providing a platform of expression and a place to meet like minded individuals. I have met some amazing people on my Steemit journey, and I'm sure you have also.

I knew nothing about cryptocurrency before joining Steemit. Not only did Steemit offer me a platform to share my thoughts and ideas, it aroused an interest in digital currencies. And that interest has developed so that I am now a fully signed up crypto trader.
