Why this post is going to be upvoted, and why Steemit won't be just a flash in the pan

Many people is wondering why some account on Steemit has more than one million Steem Power, while we just start with ten. This sounds pretty unfair for a service that aspires to revolution the social networks and the world economy.

My name is Simone Ruggeri, I am a professional poker player, and I am not here to blame the founders of this site: I hope to give a precious contribution, and reassure anyone that, also if in a certain sense we could say that Steem has been "heavily premined", this is actually a good thing for future of this project, and for the "Expected Value" of everyone.

And this is the reason why everyone should upvote this post: the founders and all the top players in this game are going to upvote me, so the first you upvote me, the most you gain.
And this is not just a matter of "game theory": what I am saying is useful for the future of Steemit, and this is the exact reason of every single upvote I took. This is why I like Steemit: you don't need to play a perfect strategy do to something good. You just need to do something good.

What I do everyday is studying strategies of the poker population, to exploit leaks of the average player and of specific players.

I would never sit in a game where my opponent has an opportunity to collude, or to know my cards. Because such a game can't be beaten.

Instead, I would probably sit in a game where my opponent is likely to be a tougher player than me. Because I know this is the only way to improve my game, and to get precious informations about the best players in my game.

The founders of Steemit have reserved for themeselves a big part of the cake. This could sound unfair, but at the sime time it is the only thing viable option they have if they want to avoid that speculators, not caring about this project, can easily takeover the power of the network: users writing spam and just liking each other would gain a lot of Steem, but at that point Steem would be worth just nothing.

In theory, I can't be sure that the Steemit founders will have the fairness to giveup most of their power when our network, thanks to the contribution of everyone, will be ready to stand on his own legs.

But In practice, thanks to my knowledge of Game Theory, I can reassure that they will be forced to act not for their own interest, but for the interest of the network: the founders will gain a lot of money by downpowering at the right time, while just continuing to accumulate Steem Power would make new users feel uncomfortable, and would decrease the value of the network.

This is the reason why I am sitting at this table, with a short stack. And I don't feel unconfortable if @ned or @dan have a bigger stack than me: we aren't playing a zero sum game like poker.

Here we can play the game of life: a game in which everyone can earn, also if no one is losing.

It wouldn't be bad to become a "Professional Steemit Player" in some sense... maybe it's just a dream but Steemit may become the place where dreams become reality!
