Get more upvotes for your quality article using simple ways. They are very simple ways that are already used by many but most senior steemit members tend to write lengthy articles that may have diluted some simple pointers as too much details given. This is my personal reflection and experience that I am going to write about so further research should be done as everyone is learning including myself not excluded. I am not here to tell you what to do or what you should do in consideration that I am only in this platform for 64 days only. I have gained some valuable experience during my 64 days. I have reached a reputation rate of 50 as well as having 584 followers at the point of this post. Let's get started with some of my reflection points and hopefully you can find some useful pointers for your own further research for greater success in this platform especially if you have been feeling down for your articles that have been only getting a few cents of upvote or even worst where you are the only one who upvotes for your own post. I do not guarantee that things I share will work for everyone but they have brought in some results for me and I will be sharing just a few of them. ### Frequency of posting When I first started in December 2017 last year, I posted regularly and I would even post quite a number of articles within one day. Without understanding certain simple fundamental, I was over-hardworking in the wrong direction. #### Have you been posting more than one article daily but you don't get many upvotes and you are blaming it on low steem power? The principal is very simple. Look at my present status where I am coming close to 600 followers. I am sure not every follower is reading my article. Usually the last article may get upvoted slightly more since it is our latest. By posting so often, your article may not get the time needed for your followers to read it even if it is in their feed. They would probably just take a few minutes to read your latest post. I have recently spread out the frequency of my posting. I post an article every two days. I have seen better upvotes for each as it gives more time for my followers to read my articles. Bear in mind also another fact is that we don't have **unlimited voting power** to upvote every post. Each 100% of upvote is 2% used and it takes about slightly more than 2 hours to recharge for that 2 % used. If you keep posting so many articles within a day and you don't have high paying history as well as high steem power, your followers would naturally be reluctant to upvote your every post. I see benefits in posting articles with time gaps in between. It gives my followers time for recharge of voting power and I am not flooding their feed with my articles. Each article can be more carefully thought through before posting and it must be good to attract more followers and readers. ### Avoid resteeming unnecessarily I believe we all experience members that we followed with lots of resteeming. Unless you are running a resteeming service, it really does not benefit newbies like us to keep resteeming other members' articles. Most members can get rather fustrated with too many resteeming since we can always read from the source directly. I do understand the intention of helping another member but resteeming every single article you come across will not benefit your reputation and blog. Very soon, fewer followers will bother to read the article that you post. If you really need to resteem, you should only resteem the excellent ones. This keep your blog slightly cleaner actually. ### Use tools like steemfollower Steemfollower is not an upvote for upvote system. It is not there to exchange upvotes as the creator has already indicated that those who joined should only upvote quality article so we do have a choice of who are want to upvote. By upvoting for others, we gain points that allow our latest article to appear in some of the members' feed in steemfollower where you have a chance to get an upvote if they like your article. Steemfollower has more than 10 000 members and your article will not get drown and disappeared so quickly since steemit platform has over few hundred thousand members. Too many articles are appearing every minute and it is hard for new member's article to get noticed even if it is very good. Using steemfollower is just to give your article a chance to been seen and even get upvoted if it is really good. I do get some upvotes daily but I am not saying it will work for everyone since we do have a choice in which one to upvote. It is not a miracle tool but it does have its benefit if you have good article and you want exposure. #### Remember it is your latest article that will appear in the system so having a time gap between each of your article does allow greater exposure. ### Some pointers of quality article - Keep it simple - Topic that everyone is interested - Topic that you have expertised in so that you can answer any comment effectively - Be original and do not copy - Have your personal opinion but not instructing others as we are not experts - Add a disclaimer as you should not take responsibility for ideas that others did not do further research ### Visit your upvoters' articles and upvote quality comments I have recently been visiting my upvoters' articles but you should never offer upvote for upvote as it is not allowed in steemit. It is against the rule written in the FAQ. I have seen more responsive upvoters and some even support my other articles. I am able to build relationship with my upvoters and support them unconditionally. I am not indicating that I will do this for every single upvoter in my post as that kind of promise or agreement become illegal here. Every visit or upvote should be voluntary without my upvoters requesting me to do so. Nevertheless, I am not able to visit or upvote every article if it is not good ones or there is very little effort put in to deserve one. #### Don't beg for upvote as it is against the steemit rule and you should have some dignity as you are establishing reputation as a good writer. ### Use of upvote bots There are two types of upvote bots. 1) Bid for upvotes 2) Purchase a certain percentage of guaranteed minimum upvotes Upvote bots are generally developed by many steemit witnesses as a marketing tool especially for newbies to get your article noticed. It is like a bait to attract attention of others. It is really not just to gain upvote to gain profit purely through upvote bots. You would have missed the main goal if you have the wrong idea. The ultimate goal is to get more followers and supporters for your quality articles. I would advise the use of upvote bots with caution. Buying upvotes can cause you to lose more than you gain actually if you do not use wisely. There is a little tool developed by one of the witnesses. https://www.steembottracker.com Steembottracker can show an estimated number of people bidding for upvotes to different upvote bots but there can be many last minute bidders and you can very low returned upvotes in the end. I personally prefer not to bid for upvotes but use those that provide a certain percentage of guaranteed upvotes. By having a nice upvotes in the beginning can get your article noticed by others and it will not get drown so easily but use it carefully as you may lose more SBD than gain since most upvote bots require SBD for payment of their service. It is quite simple to use. All you need is to transfer a certain amount of SBD to any upvote bot of your choice and in the memo you need to put in your article link. ### I have just written some of the things that I have tried out in this articles. The most important to do well is really the basic of writing quality article and keep writing consistently. Don't go for shortcut as you may lose more as a newbie without high steem power. Disclaimer: This is a personal reflection of the things that I have tried and it is not meant to instruct anyone what to do in steemit. You should do your own research if you find useful pointers in this article. By reading this article, you agree that I am not responsible for any action you have taken due to your lack of personal research.
