I enjoy discussing this topic; I see it as very important. When we talk about keeping our home clean, many people might think it's only about maintaining a clean toilet and kitchen and forget that keeping outside germs at bay is also crucial and more importantly, everyone in a home has a role to play in it.

I have seen someone who never even bothers to wash their hands after returning home from work, and I can't help but wonder if this person has any idea of the harm they might be exposing themselves and those around them to.

My home is my haven, it gives me comfort, keeps me warm, and safe, and gives me peace of mind because I never have to worry about being in someone's else space. Is it my responsibility to make it healthy for me and my loved ones? Absolutely;

I always strive to make my home a safe and healthy place for us by thoroughly cleaning all the necessary areas. I believe a home should be safe not only from intruders but also from germs and any infectious diseases that may be present. A clean home is essential for keeping us healthy and free from sickness.

As a homemaker, I take it upon myself to ensure that our home is safe from germs and any disease-carrying organisms as much as possible. Not only that, I try to carry everyone along in doing their part for a clean and healthy space for all of us, which is easy for me to do anyway, since it is just me, my husband, and my son for now and occasionally visit from family members and few friends. If it were those days when we lived with extended family, it could have been a bit harder to make everyone play along with my method of ensuring a clean space. 

In my little haven, here are some simple ways that I make my home safe from germs that live beyond the four walls of my house.

The simple act of washing our hands is crucial. Even though our hands may often appear clean, they are an easy way for germs to enter our homes from the outside. Therefore, regularly washing our hands with soap and running water is necessary to keep our home clean and healthy.

I always remember to wash my hands as often as possible, especially after being outside, and I encourage my family and friends to do the same. I have even adopted a children's song as a reminder: 

You might happen to remember the song; "Every time before you eat, you should wash your hands, dirty hands have a lot of germs, so you should wash your hands, squeeze a little soap and water on your hand, rub rub and bubble bubble will take all the germs away...."

I ensure that this valuable lesson is put into practice not only before meals but also whenever we return home from outside. We never know what our hands may have come into contact with outside our home, be it touching door handles, office furniture, or seemingly clean items on store shelves.

Whenever my son brings a toy with him on an outing, I always make sure to wash it thoroughly before he plays with it again at home. After returning home from any outing, I promptly remove and place my clothes in the laundry for washing before wearing them again. I always encourage others in my household to follow the same practice.

I believe we all have a part to play in ensuring our home is clean and healthy. So over to you, what do you do every day in making sure your home is clean and safe?
