Based on my readings from old time steem users' posts, it isn't the first time that this option was being discussed & implemented that's Golos & Whaleshares existed. On top of that, it's also being experimented internally as **"Tribes"** with their own unique ***tokens*** which was made possible through Steem-Engine. The creation of these sister forks & tribes that seem to replicate what Steem & Steemit does is due a number of reasons namely: disagreement in governance, disagreement on rewards distribution, getting rid of Steemit Inc's "ninja mined stake", getting rid bid bots, and the latest being Justin Sun's hostile take-over of the Steem network. *It's amazing how a single person / entity can greatly influence the trajectory of a blockchain / community like steem.* **The power of money.** JS brought a lot of vibe *(good then bad)* when he first came to introduce himself to the steem community. The steem community's excitement has quickly escalated to *rage* as things go south. And because of his actions, we are once again considering the option of a "sister fork" which for me is something that I can't favor 100%. Firstly, I have never experienced nor observed Whaleshares or Golos which based on my readings never succeeded to outrun Steem. While Tribes weren't really meant to replace Steem, they are meant to replicate a certain aspect of it. The tribe founders have experimented on a variety of rewards distribution system and specific set of rules which resulted to a variety of outcome as well. Some tribes has successfully level with steem's value if not more while many of the tribes has lesser value to almost none at all. One thing is for sure, regardless of what the sister fork will offer, if the "value" is being determined by the "community" that's backing it, then the sister fork (sister chain) is merely a "virtual hub" for the community. For me, if the idea of creating a sister chain is for the steem community to branch-out then I'm more than willing to take the same route as the majority of steem users that I know or that I interacted to in my entire steem journey. *** Still, I hope to have a fix for this current issue and for all parties to find a meeting point for every solution and agreeable for everyone involved without resulting to a split (sister fork) of the steem blockchain. *** **Steem on!**
