Before the emergence of the Steemit's competitors, the unique quality of this social media platform is its "decentralized" nature and the content creator will be able to "monetized" their own contents.

Basically, Steemit completely revolutionized the conventional social media through its advancement to blockchain technology. I've personally been astounded by the idea of **"freedom of speech"** and **"anonymity"** on the Steemit platform. Everyone can basically express their thoughts to everyone.
 
Having this kind of freedom in our hands could easily be abused by somebody else who doesn't even care about this platform. Surprisingly, even though there is so much negativity in this world, it seems that the majority of the **"optimistic"** individuals out there have gathered on this platform and shared valuable thoughts with the community.

Although I'm quite aware of the flaws of this platform, I would say it's so much better than any other platforms out there; even compared to its competitors.
