Are you cryptocurrency miner? Or perhaps you have thought about it, but the diminshing returns have made you second-guess it? There are many creative ways you can make it more lucrative for you - after all, people are clever.

Kamil Brejcha, a cryptocurrency miner and a co-founder to the Czech trading platform NakamotoX, is among the many to realize, that **using the massive amounts of energy just to create money out of thin air** - and which gets more energy-hungry every day - **is not sustainable**.

So Brejcha set up a greenhouse with tomato plants and directs to heat that his mining equipment generates to the greenhouse, instead of using traditional heating equipment, in order to help the tomatoes to grow. The tomatoes are called - of course - "cryptomatoes" :)

On March 10th, Kamil tweeted:

>Who would imagine that mining cryptocurrencies and agriculture can work together? The first batch of cryptomatoes is ready to be harvested. We are using the excess heat for the tomato greenhouse and it is working:-)

Brejcha has big plans for his business, whose aim is "**creating an agriculture, energy and blockchain symbiotic solution**." They have developed a device called "Container", about which very little is known at the time, except that it collects and redirects the heat to the greehouses. Expecting a patent soon :)

While people can argue that mining cryptos is a massive waste of energy with little to no benefit, this argument can be reversed quickly with the claim that in their climate, greenhouse tomatoes will need the heat anyway, so hei! why not make some cryptos while producing the heat, right?

**You thought that there couldn't be any good news about dying?** Guess again! The rumors that Bitcoin's transaction fees are dying appear to be true. Bitcoinist.com [digs up](http://bitcoinist.com/bitcoin-transaction-fees-new-low/) the topic and makes some cool discoveries.

Apparently the major reason for this massive reduction of transaction fees is the increasing batching of smaller Bitcoin transactions, which has essentially de-clogged the network. According to [Bitcoin Core Fee](https://twitter.com/CoreFeeHelper/status/977883665035390979) on Twitter, the estimated fees were as low as 1 satoshi/per byte just two days ago!

Bitcoinist.com guys did all the testing for us and **managed to send $10K USD worth of Bitcoin** from a wallet that allows setting custom transaction fees, and managed to make it happen **with the suggested fee of 1 sat/byte**, which made the total fee around $0.01

At the same time, for example estimatefee.com suggests usign a fee of 5 sats/byte with the suggestions fluctuating some more on other sites.

Perhaps there is hope yet for Bitcoin to being used as a wide-spread payment mechanism ;)
