New LED Grow Light!
Hello Everyone,

I'm super excited today because I just received a new LED grow light for my indoor cannabis garden.

This light far exceeds the lumens of the LED's I've been working with previously.

Sunglasses are now absolutely necessary for me to work in this tent. I was slacking with this a bit before, but we're working with some serious lumens now, so I will no longer be exposing my naked blue eyes.

Let's check out this light a bit.

Utilizing zip ties is must in this small tent, because the wire hanger will have this LED panel halfway down to the floor, and this would pose a serious problem and make use in this tent pretty much impossible due to being too close to the plants, causing light burn, and not allowing for the plants to grow to a proper height.

It may appear as though this light is very far from the plants, but in all actuality it is not. This tent is only a few feet high. I have it as far to the roof of the tent as possible. It should be pretty good like this.

It's also noticeable that the fans are directed to blow on the LED panel. I chose to do this because there is no cooling for this panel, and it gets quite hot. The fans do a pretty good job of reducing how hot it gets.

I'll show a screen shot of this product with the details.

I find it pretty shocking that this is the lowest powered model they carry, considering how bright it is. I can hardly imagine how bright that Pro-2000 is.

The smaller round supplementary LED panels are this product:

These are very good lights. I even received another one today along with the Phlizon for use in my closet as a secondary grow area for seedlings. We'll get to that soon! :)

For someone on a tight budget using the old purple LED's and needing to upgrade, this is a great upgrade if you can manage to come up with the $18.99 to purchase it. I used one of these along with my purple lights when I first upgraded and the difference was amazing.

There is a convenient dimmer knob, and the Plizon can be daisy chained to more panels. It's highly unlikely that I will be adding more light to this tent. If I get more lights, it will be to add to another tent when I get one.

My last harvest was around an ounce, maybe a little less. With this new set up, I think I will easily achieve more than double the amount.

Let's see how the cannabis is doing!

The two small unknown strains are exploding in healthy growth, and this is prior to putting the new light in. I can hardly wait to see what happens over the next couple of days :)

I have a few seedlings down there, and one is very healthy. It is the one in the middle. The other two have some minor deformities but are recovering nicely and should be just fine.

The Phlizon also came with a thermometer/humidity panel. Super cool!

This is nice to have because it gives me much more insight into the environment of the grow tent. Now I can work towards the perfect temperature. I don't think there is a perfect temp, but there is a good range to work within. Probably between 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit. It gets up to 88 currently, which I think might be a tad on the warm side, but I'm not overly concerned about it. I'm open to thoughts from the pros in this area :)

Let's check out the closet now!

I'm really loving this, because now I can start seedlings before harvesting, and it will cut down the time between harvests. I'm also able to grow other plants in here!

Like these beautiful little Graptopetalum/Sedum hybrid succulent(s) that my friend @nikv helped me identify. She also gave me some really good tips on caring for them, and look how good they are doing now! She is really a pro at this, just go check out her blog and you will know it to be true :)

Just look at how cute these little things are, especially in these 3D printed pots. I really love how they look under the old purple lights, and they actually seem to blush perfectly under them, with no etiolation. *(Stretching.)*

When pulled out from under the purple light, we can see more clearly the blush I am speaking of. This is very much desired on this particular succulent.

I also hack away at these green onions as I need them, only adding a little water in the bottom of the cup *(to avoid them getting mushy and slimy on the inside)* and new shoots will grow, giving me probably double *(or close to double)* what I would get from just consuming them with no re-growth in mind.

These come packaged from the market with the roots completely cut, and I've had pretty terrible luck with repotting, so I just use this method and buy more when they are gone. This saves me a little bit of money by doing this.

Here we see the old LED panel from underneath. It's the combination of red and blue which gives it the purple color. These are still selling for about the same price as the round LED panel that's beside it. I would expect they will be phased out eventually, but I could be wrong. They do have their uses, like with the succulents, but they are not very popular for cannabis cultivators with the emergence of these more natural light LED's, which definitely give higher yields and much better foliage growth.

I also received some Cal-Mag today as well. I'll be using this throughout the growth stages as needed.

This should last me a long time, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the cannabis plants respond to it.

With a half gallon of water, I only need to add about 1/3 of a teaspoon.

I'm feeding from the bottom, because I do not want to disturb the diatomaceous earth topping.

My friend @carolkean mentioned in a recent post:

*"I'm intrigued by the hard, dry-clay look of your potting soil."*

This is actually just the diatomaceous earth, after it becomes wet and then dries. It takes on that dry cracked look, but goes on as a powder from the bag.

The potting soil itself is a loose coir mix.

This is how the soil looks beneath the diatomaceous earth topping

Thus far, the diatomaceous earth, even being topped heavily like this, has never caused issues with my cannabis harvests. It's pretty amazing stuff. I even know people who drink it! But I personally would not want to try this. I suppose I can wait a couple years and see if they are still alive and kicking, if it does wonders for them, maybe I will give it a try. :)

I have this luggage bag on top because of my need to protect the light panel from Covid. *(my cat.)*

He likes to sit up on top of it, and doesn't take well to me telling him what to do. In fact he's outside having a temper tantrum right now because I've been trying to keep him off of it.

<center>
![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/futuremind/23sUJoTAwSxctLybsJ7thnEbPdLcdBihAuf2boRMpetaigmg1957g8pWnmaASrTXR4551.png)

The luggage bag is pretty stiff, and so are the 3D printed containers, so if Covid decides to be a bad boy, at least my light panel will now be protected from his weight.

I think that covers everything going on currently with my indoor cannabis garden, and succulents.

We'll go ahead and wrap it up now.

Thank you all for the amazing support and engagement. Your time is a valuable commodity, and I always keep that in mind and do my best to respond to everyone. Sometimes it takes me a day or two, because I'm super busy and have projects going on over on my alt @print3dpro as well, but I generally always see the comments and make sure to respond :)

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day! -@futuremind
