Bitcoin Gold (BTG) Is Live and There’s Ways to Claim Your Coins
The Bitcoin Gold blockchain went live on November 12. And there’s ways to get your coins as I’ll show you in a moment.

It’s one I’ve written about in the past. This [one](https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@g-dubs/what-to-do-about-bitcoin-gold), when the project was announced, and this [one](https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@g-dubs/what-to-do-about-bitcoin-gold-btg), on what to do to prepare for the hard fork.

I will say [Bitcoin Gold]( https://bitcoingold.org/) has been pretty good about getting out news the past couple weeks.

To bring you up to speed the Bitcoin Gold snapshot took place at block 491406.

On November 1 Bitcoin Gold implemented [replay protection](https://bitcoingold.org/replay-protection-development/). That’s a good thing. It will make it safer for wallets and exchanges to incorporate BTG and it should prevent novices from losing their bitcoin.

The original plan was for Bitcoin Gold was to launch on November 1, but that was too ambitious. The first testnet went live on [November 3](https://bitcoingold.org/bitcoin-gold-daily-update-network-stable/). Five days later version two of the testnet went live. And November 12 the Bitcoin Gold blockchain went live.

Those interested can even download the Bitcoin Gold [client](https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/) now.

There’s also a lot more info on the [website](https://bitcoingold.org/).

In terms of support both [Poloniex](https://poloniex.com/press-releases/2017.10.24-Notice-About-Bitcoin-Gold/) and [Bittrex](https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002320451-Statement-on-Bitcoin-Gold-BTG-) intend to support BTG once they check everything out. The easiest place to buy and sell BTG now is Binance.

Likewise, the hardware wallets Ledger and Trezor will come out for tools to claim your BTG.

For now you can check out [Coinomi]( https://coinomi.com/) and their [piece](https://medium.com/@coinomi/collecting-your-free-bitcoin-gold-btg-coins-da937d4255d1) on claiming Bitcoin Gold.
To do it right you’ll need to move all your bitcoin to another wallet first. Then you get a Coinomi wallet and add BTG. Finally you import your seed from your other wallet to get your BTG.

It’s a bit of a process but from what I’ve read it’s working for people.

Personally I’m going to wait for Ledger to provide a tool for claiming BTG.

As I write BTG is at $144… and falling.
