Hola a todos, el día de hoy estoy muy emocionada con la receta que les traigo ya que es el plato más común y típico de mi país Venezuela y son las Arepas.

La Arepa es elaborada a partir de harina de maíz precocida y el relleno de ellas es muy variado, podemos escoger entre diferentes guisos y rellenos con sabores espectaculares. Es un alimento tan variado y divino que es muy popular en varios países. Aquí en Venezuela se consume casi a diario y les puedo asegurar que hasta sin ningún relleno son sabrosas pero eso sí, acompañadas de un buen caldo de papas o como se llama aquí en la región los Andes, una pizca Andina.

Hoy les mostraré como preparar tres tipos de rellenos y espero les guste así que comencemos.

El primer relleno que haremos será el de carne mechada así que como primer paso vamos a cocinar muy bien la carne hasta que quede muy blanda. Cuando esté listo en un recipiente empezamos a desmecharla con nuestras manos hasta que quede así.

Tomamos la cebolla, tomate, ajo y pimentón y picamos en trozos muy pequeños.

Lo llevamos a una olla con un poco de color rojo (opcional), sal y aceite para sofreír por unos cinco minutos.

Cuando esté listo se lleva a cocinar a otra olla junto a la carne y le agregamos unas cinco cucharadas de agua.

Dejamos cocinar por unos 10 minutos y estará listo nuestro primer relleno.

Vamos a preparar el segundo relleno de atún  y es muy sencillo. Vertemos el atún en un recipiente y aparte picamos en trozos muy muy pequeños el tomate y la cebolla y se lo agregamos a este.

Mezclamos  muy bien y le agregamos sal y una cucharada de mayonesa de forma opcional.

Para el tercer relleno vamos a rallar queso de nuestra preferencia, yo he utilizado queso semiduro el cual es especial para rallar. También utilizaremos jamón de nuestra preferencia.

Teniendo listos los rellenos prepararemos la masa. En un recipiente o bol grande vertemos 1 taza de harina de maíz y le agregamos media cucharada de sal.

Le agregamos aproximadamente taza y media de agua de a poco y empezamos a mezclar y amasar con nuestras manos.

Amasamos por un par de minutos hasta que nos quede una masa estable y sin grumos.

Calentamos un budare o plancha y le agregamos un poquito de aceite. 

Cuando este bien caliente tomamos una de nuestras bolitas y la aplastamos hasta que queden bien planas y de 1 centímetro de grosor.

Dejamos asar por unos 5 a 10 minutos hasta que estén doradas, le damos vuelta y dejamos cocinar por el otro lado.

Para rellenar, abrimos las arepitas a la mitad con un cuchillo y le colocamos el relleno.
