IT IS GOD WHO CALLS
![IMG_2203.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXZZz8KkHUemFte38CNR7b6jQeEbh6ZctEqKjHx76tLm7/IMG_2203.jpg)My dear readers will even attest to the fact that I don't like sharing personal experience because as my writing style demands, I must put away with experience and concentrate on the gospel. This has in one way or the other, led me to shun *self* at least in my blogs.

But today, I will uncharacteristically give a scanty information about my Christian walk. I must also admit that even those very close might not have noticed some of these information about me. This is not because I deliberately hide myself from people but that I don't announce it when I'm undertaking something for the Lord.

Do I need the go-ahead of people in order to do what the Lord commands in the Holy writ? Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, the bible speaks otherwise. So even before I dive into speaking about my walk with Christ, you must be aware of how straightforward I am. Although sometimes one needs to discuss things with others before undertaking an action, it's not always so.

I quite remember Paul, after he had met Christ in a dramatic conversion did not go straightforward to the apostles to inquire anything of them. Before I go on to quote that from his letter to the Galatians, we must know that the message we preach, of which I'm **a slave** to is not the message of man.
>11 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel. 12 For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. (Galatians 1:11-12, ESV)

Therefore if I did not receive any message from any man, then no man owes me an approval. I work because Christ told me so. I can't describe this better without sharing this conversation I had with a former church member.
*I happened to be in a conversation with this student. After a while, the conversation changed to a talk about the ministry (as its normal for Christians). The conversation became and argument and his stance was that **"one needs to have an approval of a man of God in order to function as a minister"**. Admittedly, I became very confused after hearing this from a Christian because it was the least I expected from him*

It's only when we view this from humans perspective that we would support his argument. No shred of scripture buttresses what he said. In fact it's against scripture for someone to believe that we need the approval of men to do the work of God. Paul went straightforward to the very core of that assertion. Listen to what he said earlier in Galatians.
>For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10, ESV)

So what my friend was telling me was that I should rather seek the approval of men than what God has already given me in His holy Word. Don't get me wrong here. This is what I am not saying; I'm not saying that we should shun the advice of people. I always say that it's fairly good to consider both the naysayers and the yea-sayers. We must listen to people, especially our parents and elders. But they shouldn't be the ones to approve us in our work in the vineyard of God.

I think it was expected of Paul to go to the apostles when he received his calling. But he did something that most of us will call awkward. For he said
>15 But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, 16 was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone; 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother. (Galatians 1:15-19, ESV)

Note that he even spent just 15 days with the leader of the apostles- Peter. All because he wanted to prove to them that they didn't call him, They didn't ordain him or anointed him into the ministry. It was God and God alone. This is why I live as such. When it comes to the ministry and the gospel of Jesus, nothing can stop me.

Jesus was sometimes very difficult. Listen to what he said concerning those who desire to follow him in Luke
>"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26, ESV)

Jesus was not here declaring war in the family. Not at all. He was rather telling the people that they shouldn't let any relationship stand between them and their commitment to God and his ministry . That's the point he was making. Not even parent can hinder their children from sharing the gospel. It's true. And those who are hindered by relationships are not worthy to be his disciple. Those who treasure relationship than God are not welcomed into the ministry of God.

Paul told the Philippians
>5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless. 7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ (Philippians 3:5-8, ESV)

That's who I am. Are you hindered from the work of God because of what man is saying? Then you don't have any tangible reason for not doing the work of your Master. Remember, No excuses before God. God Bless you for following this message. I want to hear your reaction in the comment section.
